  1. I was just outside with my dad burning an old torn up flag (because your suppose to) and some guy pulls up and says 'its disrespectful to burn a flag you know'

  2. "The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning"

According to the US Flag Code.

  3. high as hell, i love DC. its great. my brother in law owns a bar there, its in dupont circle if you know where that is.

  4. Yes I know where that is, I'm there all the time. What bar?

  5. yes, I'm jsut stunned at how many people stopped and gave me dirty looks for doing what I'm suppose to do. maybe their the ignorant ones?

  6. I've burned some american flags in my day.

  7. That is a disgusting picture, though I will never tell someone they can't.

  8. fuck that. ill fuckin kill someone if i see them burning the flag.

  9. That is honestly the best thing i could find.

There was NOTHING else. Guess Canada ain't that bad in the eyes of the terrorists.

  10. it obviously wasn't out of 'ANARCHY!' if it was why would I go outside my house at 11:30 P.M when no ones around but the occasion cars driving by?

people need to start learning their own countrys laws and mind their fucking business!

  11. Symbols of nations are meaningless. Nations are just lines that seperate us.

  12. yeah...meaningless....what about the people that die for that flag? the tears, sacrifice and life given up for that "meaningless" flag....i guess its not so meaningless to a lot of people.

  13. "Symbols are given power by their people. By itself, a symbol is meaningless"

  14. yea. I know i'll probably get a lot of shit for this (i do from most of my friends), but patriotism is stupid. we all have so much "pride in our countries" and were so much better than everyone else, our country is the best, but by doing that were just dividing ourselves and saying were all different when in reality, we are all the same. I dont have pride in my country, shit i dont even have pride in my heritage, i have pride in humanity, and we should be celebrating that we are all the same instead of the meaningless imaginary lines which keep us from accepting that.

  15. yeah I don't think so much fuss should be about burning a flag, a symbol

that's like saying a major league baseball bobbing head doll getting burned is like killing the actual person it's symbolizing...

  16. that symbol means a lot to me. it represents the idea of equality and freedom (even tho the current govt doesnt).

"i love the place i live in but hate the people who run it."

  17. I don't need a flag or any symbols to remind me of that.

I have everything around me, the life i live, the people i know. Everything else is just a foreign concept.

  18. rasta_man, your words are too true, you are my official grasscity hero

  19. Not really equality, but if you need representation of freedom, just think about what you do in your life everyday, I get the representation of those who have died for freedom and peace when I walk outside and see everything just as it should be, not war torn and destroyed, thats symbol enough to me man.

  20. Flag burning is so wrong. To me, that flag represents not only the idea of equality and freedom...but the men and women who have died for the country so that I could be here today.

I challenge anyone to go to the Iwo Jima memorial around dusk when the sun is setting, reflect on that story and what the memorial represents, and not feel a chill run through your body. Considering all the sacrifices that were made for this country, the least we as Americans can do is to show some fucking common courtesy and respect for the ones who gave up their lives in so many wars in the past
