What do you think this means? Any predictions? An "unusual" address by Obama at a Fiscal Responsibility Summit? This from Newsmax.com
You're surprised that such a conservative news outlet would make use of loaded words? Your blinders can be that big, Maximilian.
What loaded words, "unusual" or "fiscal responsibility"? I expect Obama to turn up the heat on congress too but for what? What is it that he feels he is not getting? I am wondering what will be so "unusual" about BO's address. Newmax is a pretty straight arrow.
I put my money on that it has to due with something related to the nationalization of banks... Monday is going to be an interesting day for the stock market after Obama announced that he is going to raise taxes on the wealthy and buisnesses... I can guarentee that on Monday and Tuesday the Dow is gonna drop by triple digits
The only way the majority of people will get angry because of the economy is when the dollar menu disappears off fast food menus. History will remember the Summer of 2009 as the "Riot of the double cheeseburger"
"Unusual". Why is it in quotations? Where did it come from? Who said this, or described it and in what context? You're skipping a step on the magical path of critical thinking. See above. What do you mean by "pretty straight arrow"?
Show me a straight line in nature. Zoom in enough and you will see straightness is both elusive and illusory. Straight is another word for crooked. People will remember 2009 as the year that duality disappeared.
How about this max? Republicans come out and endorse a truly fiscal responsible president, and guess what America will vote for them. Bush was not fiscally responsible, and McCain was same story. Actually endorse a canidate that is worth a damn. America didn't stop being conservative, Republicans stopped being conservative. Being hypocritical has been a staple of the republican party the past couple of years. I am not saying endorse a Ron Paul, but atleast a canidate that actually proposes spending cuts, not tax cuts.
I hear ya man. There are only a hand full of house republicans and a few Govs who are even trying to be fiscally conservative. There is nothing conservative about the democrats. They will spend any amount on any thing as long as it was not proposed by a republican. Dems bitched every single day about the price of the war in Iraq but seem to have no difficulties what so ever with the outrageous price of anything else.
Bitching about the Iraq war is to quell the liberal douches. Our military budget will only increase, just not in Iraq.
No kidding, you Republican being hypocritical... Why not vote God in? (Oh, is it because you don't have a real vote? Nah...) Money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money money stacks and stacks and stacks and stacks and stacks and mountains and mountains and mountains of green cloth paper $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ (<--the last '$' was an 's' to make it plural) "LEGAL tender", "backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government".
Where can I talk about money and budget if not in a Fiscal Responsibility thread in a politics forum? I don't come into your spirituality threads and mock you.
Mock you? What did I get wrong? How did I portray you incorrectly? Isn't money your biggest concern, wrapped up in ideals of liberty, freedom, and the "invisible hand"? By the way, sorry I intruded on your chill-out zone.
Obama stated that he is going to slash our federal deficit in half in 4 years. SO FAR for the year 2009 we face a Federal deficit of 1.5 trillion. This is after a 800 billion bailout. All he will have to do in order to "slash" it in half is just not create another "stimulus" in 2013 and Tax the hell out of us. We are not going to cut money going to the military industrial complex. This I can guarentee
All he really has to do is tack on another couple 'stimulus' bills this budget year, and cutting that in half by 2012 should be a cinch
