First timer... what did I do wrong?

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Jonesn51404, Jul 15, 2020.

  1. First time grower, started outside then moved to basement. Threw together some equipment and this is where I’m at. Should I just scrap it and start over with a proper set up? The photos with grow light off are about a week old

  2. I don't understand. What's wrong? Why would you scrap it?

  3. I assumed at that height I’d have more foliage. My knowledge is very limited.

  4. They look fine. If you don't have a powerful light then you will get subpar results. There is a risk bringing your plants indoors from outside, I and many others have gotten pests this way, although, that does not seem to be an issue for you at this time. I would look into LST training and would experiment with this. There are many other ways to train your plants but LST is pretty user friendly. This is a good way to get the most out of your light. Still, a bad light will not get you very far with this hobby.

  5. Light needs to be closer to the canopy if you can manage the heat. That’ll help with your stretch a little bit

  9. Why did you bring them inside? The sun is a much better light.

They look good. The main problem seems to be your light. It's underpowered at 60 watts and it's just not that great a light to be honest. Looking at it's specs the spectrum isn't very good. It has a lot of red light and not a lot of blue. Blue light is what gives you short bushy plants. If you invest in a better light you'll see a world of difference.

Also, it looks like you don't have any perlite in your soil. You should always add that for better drainage and aeration. 1/3 of your mix should be perlite.

    Good Luck

  12. Dont scrap them! those plants are good to go. Once you figure out your lighting dilemma and they get some good light on them, the plant will "fill in."
If you can spare the money, get a grow tent which will help maximize your light (this hobby can add up but you can take your time and use DIY solutions).
Totally get the privacy concerns, being stealthy and growing is still fun but you got to throw some money at it!

  13. I just posted, "what two 300w viparspectra plurples can get you!" take a look and this is considered probably a very small grow space.
