firstly forgive me if I have to introduce myself before a post as this is new to me and took me some time to sign up etc. My name is Neil I’m looking for some help or a little guidance, It’s my first attempt to grow a crop, I had my equipment to see if I could do this for certain reasons. Due to the fact I had no experience a new work colleague had bags of experience in this and helped me out at the start, due to the fact he left the company to work elsewhere I cannot get much contact with him, so i have been reading online and following steps including my chart with some hope that I can manage to do a full cycle. I have run into some issues but now cannot get the help I need to fix them. I compared my issues to what I have seen online and it seems to match a few of them to which I am now confused what my problem actually is, weather it be one problem or I have multiple. They seem to be growing but nowhere near what I’ve seen with others. Buds are coming through and getting thicker as per usual but issues I seem to have are as followed. 1: Not much height gained roughly 70cm 2: Leaf tips yellow & has been for the last 4-6 weeks. 3: some leaf tips seem burnt 4: soil always dry at the top “ I water from the bottom “ Basically I’m winging it and I got 4 weeks to go. I’m not sure what height my lights are suppose to be so because they don’t seem to be growing fast I’m lowering them. Then it seems to be to much. Any help or pointers would be extremely appreciative and once again if there is something I suppose to do before I post a thread then I’m clearly sorry I’m just panicking as I’ve spent a lot on my stuff and basically been left to steer the wheel myself, I have pictures which I can upload of plants plus the leaves etc. thanks again. Could be nute burn / heat stress brother. I’m also extremely new to growing cannabis. But I’ve been researching growing cannabis for nearly a decade. I think what may be your problem ( if I read correctly) is that you’re letting the plants soak at the bottom and sit in there water. Rather than the muted flushing themselves with the water coming from the top. From what I recall, it’s not good to let your plants sit in runoff. So I’m sure watering from the bottom isn’t the healthiest way of feeding either. It’s also possibly being the reason why your soil gets dry from the top.
I’ve always thought the same. The guy advised me not to feed from the top. And because I’m new I follow what he says simply because he as the knowledge and not me. Should I feed from the top possibly? He didn’t even tell me the amount to feed them. How often to feed them I just went online and followed a guide. I can’t be heading someone for help that doesn’t want to help. He lost his position with us and moved on then I was having one world answers when asking for some help
If anyone can see any signs of a definit issue and solution from the pictures I would really appreciate the advise to fix. I can post other pictures of anything specific
Lol no problem brother. Okay, so, not all plants stretch insanely, so 70cm should be fine for the size pot you seem to have. The yellowing leaves could just be a sign of flowering, my plant had yellowing leaves from about 2 to 3 weeks ago and I have 2 weeks left until harvest. Burnt tips are, IMO, nute burn... My plant also has them and it doesn't seem to cause an issue, my advice would be to go on a slightly lower dose of nutes next time to try to illiminate the issue. I always water my soil from the top as it allows drainage of some salts with the runoff water... Salt buildup can cause pH problems and cause nutrient lockout. I feed from the top always even seedlings, so I would definitely try that, definitely with distilled water too, so if there is a chance of nute burn/ salt buildup you can also fix that, sorry I’m not too good at reading defiencies. your room temps seem fine but always be sure humidity is at a safe level especially if you have no fan or airflow constantly moving
I would imagine not watering from the top as cost me some growth setback, due to the PH situation this is where it gets confusing. I simply fill up a 100 litre water tank then follow the guidelines on the nutes. Once applied I do a PH test with a test kit. Once it shows my PH levels are correct I feed them. Could my water already be to high in ph before I start? Also I did have two lights running but leaves seemed to be getting burnt but temperature still sitting at 26-28 so tonight I’ve dropped one light off because I panic. I got fan and airflow 24/7 I keep them going. I also run a controller so if temp hits 29 things kick in to cool it down. Maybe a feed from the top could be a plan Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
