I will be able to grow in January of next year. Are any of the kits around $250 worth it or can I put something together cheaper? Thanks.
I don't know what kit you are talking about......but with just a BIT of research I feel it's pretty easy to put a "kit" together yourself that will fit your conditions.......and budget a little better.
Considering you aren't starting until January - I suggest you save your money and buy a good light. Good luck and welcome.
yeah.....I believe there are several different options and name brands out there..............I still stand by my original post.....with about an hour or two of decent research....you can piece together your OWN kit...that will fit your growing needs better.....and will probably come out cheaper......but you never know...
After the bit of research....you'll be able to....but we are always here for specific questions! Don't hesitate to ask!! Where are you going to put this "tent kit" at in your place of residence? I mean....do you have size restrictions?
The only size restrictions I have are self imposed. Its just me and the wife now the kids are off on their own. I have several rooms I can use to grow.

Awe you know man its my first grow so in my mind if I only get 10 grams or so that would inspire me to keep going and invest more money into growing.
Oh bro......if you get a 4x4.......even a 3x3 tent.....youll be VERY pleased with your harvest!!! Talking multiple oz's
Man....I rock with the bare minimum basically of growing pretty decent bud.......I have 2 Mars Hydro LED lights for lighting.....414 actual watts .......a fan blowing across the canopy...and a tent drain flooring....you know the "big drip pan" of sorts that you connect to the corners of the tent at the bottom...waiting to save money to upgrade to QB's...... You can get a pretty decent grow going with $300......IMO
With that budget you would be best to get a 4x4 tent and a 600w HPS. Have you decided what grow method you are going to do?
