First time - Small Cab CFL Grow, Opinions needed, Thanks

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by chatham, Dec 25, 2006.

  1. Hey there GC community, I would greatly appreciate your opinion on this proposed cabinet grow. I think I want to grow 2 plants (just to keep the stash thriving) using the LST method, in 10" planters. I am planning on using 2 warm and 2 cold CFLs for the various stages of growth, I was thinking that each bulb would be about 40W. They would be attached directly to the planter with clamping lights.

With this type of set up would an exhaust/inlet system be necessary? Or could I just get away with having a fan inside the cabinet circulating the air inside?

As for the odor, could this be managed with a deodorizer found at Walmart? Or would I need to use a carbon filtration unit like this:

    I was thinking about using this cabinet from Lowe's; 23-5/8"W x 15-1/2"D x 31-3/4"H

Thank you for any advice you can provide.

  2. The cabs a bit short but will work, you will have to lst the shit out of them. You always need an exhaust and intake, how else you going to get fresh air into the plants(they do use up th co2), you will also need the fan for filtration, if smell is going to be an issue then yes your going to need a carbon filtering system. That looks like it will work fine there are also threads here to tell you how to build your own, probably cound do it for $15-20.

  3. Mount yer' lights like this.....and then raise and lower yer' plants to the lights
Use that box for budding..start a "Darkstar" Mother bucket...and a "Darkstar" clone bucket then ya' can have different age plants flowering all the time finish a plant a week if ya' want
