First time setup, air circulation question

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by phoenix333, Jul 11, 2020.

  1. I am about to start a grow op with two lights and one tent 36 by 36 by 62. After some thought i decided i wanted to have good air circulation for the plants and could use a quality grow tent fan. Although, i dont know the first thing about them, and was wondering what kind should i get; how do i set it up; how much to spend and etc. Any help is appreciated. thanks

  3. A budget would be helpful.

  4. 4inch inline fan is all you need. Amazon has a bunch, the more expensive ones have a speed controller on it (or you can by separately later) which I recommend because if they run full blast it can suck quite a bit of air and can get quite loud. You can get a cheap one that is dependable for a time for around $40. If you want to get fancy you can get ducting (like the back of your clothes dryer) and attache it to a carbon filter (these get kinda spendy). Even the cheap filters will work for a grow or two and they will really tone the smell down when it flowers. Your tent is on the smaller side and inline fans (even the cheap ones) should be strong enough to pull/push air.

  5. I would up size to a 6" over the 4". This will allow more surface area for the carbon filter as well as the bigger fan running at 50% as opposed to a 4in running at 80%. I have an AC Infinity and it is amazing. It is almost silent and moves plenty of air. They are not the cheapest but can come with a controller that is automated. Happy growing!!!!

  6. Do you have the one with temperature control on it? I think I saw it on Amazon for like $150 and I was thinking about getting it to keep tent temperatures down during drying stage

  7. the temp control is just a fancy led screen telling you what the temp is--THEY DO NOT COOL AIR as if it were a mini air conditioner. I just bought an aluminum vivosun on amazon for my veg tent-$20! no control knob, just one speed but it is more than enough to exhaust the hot air made by my lights and its actually very quiet.

  8. for your 36x36 tent go with the six or eight inch if you get the one I just mentioned, the bigger the diamater (4,6,8 inch), the more "pull". this 4 inch might be a tad small for a 3x3

    Good luck mate
