First time Scrog grow

    Hey, i'm trying a scrog. i got 2 gh waterfarms. i added a 6" airstone to each one and i also ad 35% hydrogen peroxide i'm using gh flora series nutes that came with the waterfarms. also i add hydroguard to stop alge growth and greenfuse growth stimulator. the light is a 125w cfl with blue and red spectrum tubes built into one light. the plants will me one month from sprout on tuesday. try and keep ph at 5.5 but its hard, unlike my first grow, the ph never stabalizes. i change sol. every other week, except for this time, i'm changing right now, and will change again next week and switch to bloom nutes and 12/12

    the bigger plant already started showing male preflowers...:mad: but i ordered this foliar spray that you spray when right before you switch to 12/12 and then again 10 days later. we'll see if it actually works.. it says it will turn a male plant to female (if you use it before starting flowering) and if the plant was already going to be female it will just make it have more flowering sites.

    !!! question for people who have done scrogs before !!!
    the bigger plant is starting to get really bushy, should i start trimming it down???
    any suggestions from scrogers that know what they're doin let me know...

    that must be a female hormone spray like Feminiser or La Femme .... i dunno about turning a true male to female but i know it works brilliantly on hermies ... If it is a true male and it does turn it to female i would very much appreciate you confirming that man ... iam just very interested is all ....
    personally i would'nt prune yet ... but i will try to explain how i trim ... I like to fill out my whole space with a canopy of just crowns and no buds below them just lower leaves ... I start at my lowest internode and prune from the inside out ... i usually cut off the lowest 2 or 3 nodes cuz they don't quite make it out far enough ... then i start from the lowest remaining internode and follow it all the way to the end cutting off every secondary branch but i leave the leaves ... like a branch will grow and a leaf will grow directly underneath it ... i cut the branch but leave the leaf growing under it which is attached directly to the mains ... i leave the last 3 to 5 sets which will form my crowns .... all i am left with is all my mains with only leaves attached to them and the crowns on the ends ... i don't cut leaves only branches ... but when i cut off all the secondarys attached to my mains there are leaves attached to those branches .... i just basically prune the guts out of my plants ... and they breathe so much easier ... they don't hold so much heat and humidity through the foliage ... But man if you can fill out your space with a canopy of just crowns you can't do much better than that and pruning is so much easier cuz you have no whispy shit underneath which steals energy.... Basically i put all the energy to the top of the plant where it can use the light more efficiently ... i hope i explained myself well enough ... i could draw a diagram of how i do it if ya want ?... (would'nt happen till tommorrow at the earliest)
    BTW man wherever there is light moisture and nutrients, algae will grow ... if you stop the light it's impossible for it to grow ... i would put a cover over the pots ... that corigated plastic (like cardboard style) that 'For Sale' signs are made of works well ... just cut a circle with a slit to the centre with a hole to slip around your collar ....
    These are just suggestions man you don't have to pay attention to me :) .... but honestly i been prunning this way for about 10 years n i will never change .... Its like how they grow the worlds biggest pumkins n shit ... they grow a big vine and cut off all pumpkins bar one which gets all the goodness .... your sort of doing the same thing ... in a cupboard situation man the lower buds get less and less light as the crowns get bigger and if you cut them off as soon as you turn them your crownies will get quicker bigger & better than before

    one more thing man i forgot to mention ... bio earth sea acids is excellent for stabalising your PH .... personally i keep mine around 6 ... i like 5.8 - 6.5 in expanded clay ... flushing out your pots weekly makes a big difference ... thats the beauty of clay ... you can put 20 litres of water through the top and it will mostly all fall straight through ..... prevents salt build up and makes sure you have the right ratios of everything, also washes out any bits of debris and shit ... i flush and dump once a week straight from the garden hose with a shower sprinkler trigger gun thingy ... best done with forcefull pressure .... I sit my pots in a tray which runs back to a resevoir so i guess it makes that task easier .... same equipment as flood and drain except i top feed with it ..... iam just dribblin now ... i better go before i become annoying :)

    thanks frog, you posted a good reply and i'll take your advice about the pruning....i usually use salt leech solution and mix it with straight water and run for about an hour before every other other nute. change (once a month)
    i heard if you prune too much at once it will severly stunt your plants growth, what is a good number of branches to limit yourself to cutting at one time?

    btw....the spray i have is called sensa spray. i hope it works, because due to my current living situation i dind't have time to take clones, and i only had 2 blueberry seeds left. so i just decided to give it a try if not, well at least i'll know.. i'll let ya know how that shit works... because like i said, i know the bigger plant already started showing male preflowers.. which is odd, because on my last grow, it took like 2 months for preflowers to grow, (same seeds used for both grows) and on this plant they showed in about 3 weeks.

    hey...just to let you know...that sensa spray didn't to shit. the plant was sprayed with it very well and it is still growing male flowers. the other plant has show one single female flower forming not even with pistils out yet, i am about 5 days into 12/12 lighting. my last grow was from the same seed pack of blueberry i was really disapointed. won't order seeds from that place again..

    let me know when you get those pictures of pruning.

    yeah i would of been suprised if it turned a true male to female .... The best hormone spray i have witnessed with my own 2 eyes is Dutchmasters Reverse .... used to be called feminiser .... works very well on hermies ... but they where 30% male at best and probably only 20%.... seems to sterilise the flower pods n they just sorta go a yellowish colour and lets the females take over ... seems to promote more female flowering sites as well but i am not 100% sure ... new sacks can keep growing for up to 6 weeks so you gotta watch em ... there are definately heaps of dodgy seed banks out there ... i like 'serious seeds' and 'Nivarna' seed banks ... ever since good ol mark got in shit :) .... When i order seeds i always hope to get some males so you can grow males n females n make your own seeds ... have to grow them up the bush though cuz they interfer with projects at home ...

    yeah...i ordered seeds from www.marijuana-seeds.nl i wasn't impressed...i won't order from them again... have you heard anything about HIGH QUALITY SEEDS or RESERVOIR SEEDS? i had a few strains in mind from those 2 places

    Hey man how do you make your pics small ?.... it says mine are too big to upload .... they are straight from my camera to my pc .... do i have to do something to them ? ... they are 500kb and bigger ...


    ooooo also naaa i can't honestly say i have heard and witness seeds from them mate ...

    resize your pics using irfanview, search for it on www.download.com, really easy to resize pics wit this program!

    i'd listen to the alcoholic haha..... you have to use some kind of phote editing software.. i use Paint Shop pro 7, is fairly expensive to buy, but i got the cracked version for free...anyways...i'd try that program at downloads.com that alcoholic was talking about

    thankx AA :) ..... I'll just post some pics here as the buds develope ... i tried to get a good pic from underneath to show you how i trim but i can't get a really good veiw or angle ... when they grow up a little bit it will be easier to take a pic from underneath ... they still look messy ... and to be honest i have been lazy
    these are just two under a 600w in a 1400mm x 700mm cupboard .... normally i like 4 in a 1200mm x 1200mm square but this space is too small ... I'll show ya the others another day ... this is a Kandahar on the left and a White Rhino on the right ... i stuffed up ... they where supposed to be both Rhino's ... The day i turned them to flower and flushed them out and soforth ... i forgot to turn my pump back on and they had a little stress attack and me leaves are a little upset with me but they'll get over it ...

    you can see the little pissy buds in the undergrowth in one pic ... i usually leave them for a week till they grow a little bit and are easier to cut off ... these are 7 days flowering

    The plants are nothing special .... this is 3 weeks flowering on last sunday... missed getting a pic on the second week ... i'll take some better this weekend ... i tried to get a pic from underneath but it looks messy and does'nt really show anything clearly ...

    DAMN frog.........them plants are looking nice....i've been doing some major triming and it doesn't seem to hurt the plant so next time, i think i'll start even earlier.

    anyways...heres an update i'm just about to hit the second week of flowering. everythings going good so far, no problems yet at all, going perfect.

    Man i am so sorry for not responding ealier ... honestly i haven't even looked in here in weeks ... i got some serious crap happenin man ... they finish this weekend n i will take a pic before i harvest ... even if i don't get back this weekend i will take a pic n post it asap

    next weekend i mean man .... its already saturday here

    my blueberry plant is comming along nice, and i think from now on, i will use the scrog method :hello: it works good as hell.... here are some pics of the blueberry scrog, pics were taken a couple days ago (1 month into flower)

    quick QUESTION: the company i bought the seeds from said 8-10 wks flower time. and right now i'm only at 4 weeks, is it normal to see pistils starting to turn orange/brown at this point in flowering? i'm pretty sure its not cuz of the light being too close because for #1 its only a 125w cfl and for #2 the bud closest to the light which happens to be the end of the main stem has almost know pistils turning color, while some of the buds right on top of the screen have about 20-30% turning orange brown.

    this grow is going so good, i haven't had a single problem. i take back everything bad i said about this strain in the past it turned out to be the aero system i was using was worthless and probably the nutrients i was using also, the only complaint i still have about the strain is according to the breeders of this strain, the pistils are supposed to be red, blue, and purple, and pistils and buds themselves dry to a lavender blue...:eek: fucking liers, they still have 4-6 weeks left if they turn color before the plant is harvested, then they redeemed thereselves.....can't wait to find out !!!

    oh yeah, i also forgot to say.... i also made a webpage with pics on it because i wanted to put some huge ass pictures, that GC wouldn't let me upload, you can actually see the mushroom shape of the trichomes in the pictures. it also has pics of some problems my ICE CREAM plants have been having. all the pictures on that page were taken roughly 2 weeks before the pics on here, so buds and trichome count are a little smaller.     I went to your web page balla ... your a bloody good photographer man ... seriously how do you get your pics so sharp and clear ... and those crystals they look so yummy ... my pics are crappy my digi is only 2 meg but still i have used an 8 meg and I guarantee they still didn't look no where near as good as those man ... The picture of the resevoir man and the water like fuck its just so bloody good ... you got a home box tent too man ?... they work well ... I'll do a seperate post about ya leaves man ...

    yeah man the pistils ... it is normal ... very normal :)~ .... hopefully you notice that they are growing new hairs quicker than the old ones are browning off ... and thats all good ... you still might get blue tinged pistils in 2-3 weeks ... but yeah those fuckers will tell you anything ...
