First time indoor marijuana grower

  1. Hi there im new on this site and also new to growing. I have attempted once and didn't get a harvest, although now I have done much more research which seems to be necessary.

I am going to be doing an indoor grow with a grow tent. I live in an apartment complex so the number one issue is going to be the scent of that dank. I'm on a budget here so I have a virtual sun indoor grow tent which is 4ft by 4ft by 6.5 ft. Im not going with a hydroponic system because of the amount I have to spend on this project. I am going to have six 3 gallon grow bags, so 6 plants, which will be under a 600watt light. Now, I know the basic setup to a grow tent based on the amount of research I've done, however, I am not completely sure. Im going to have the aluminum ducting go from the top of the tent to outside where I would have the fan and the carbon filter, so the air is being sucked out. Is this all I need? Is another fan necessary for the inside? Will this mask 99.5% of the smell as is, like it says it will? And is it a better idea to have the carbon filter and fan inside or outside? I just thought it'd be better off outside because my tent is only 6.5 ft high and id like to have some monster plants growing in there. Also, nutrients, what do you recommend? Like I said before, the smell is the biggest issue and I want it to be nearly scentproof when the tent is shut. Open to all suggestions.

lov4led is right. I would not recommend that light setup for a tent grow. You will be way better off with a cool tube fixture or something similar otherwise heat will become a problem. Also you will be able to get your light lower to the plants thus increasing light intensity to the plants. I also would recommend a higher cfm fan setup. Here is a good website that is very accurate, succinct, and helpful in the research dept. Check it out. Jasons Indoor Guide - Exhaust
