I have a Miracle Gro Aerogarden Ultra. This is my first time trying to grow. I did my best to try to research what settings the hydroponic needed to be but something just isn't right. Shouldn't the plant be...uhhh much bigger?????? I am using General Hydroponics MaxiGro. Any and all advice is welcome!!!
Thinking from the salt build up, that you're running way too strong of nutrients for that small of a plant. It looks like it might not make it. What's your ph and nutrient ec numbers?
TBH I haven't checked the ph. I just googled distilled water ph and it says 7....and I found a site that says 5.5-6.5? Gonna grab a ph test kit in a couple hours. Would the nutrients still be too strong even though I used 1/2tsp vs. 1-2tsp per bag recommendation? What could I do to save my little plant besides fixing the ph?
What is the medium ? Looks like soil to me...? That substrate is waaay to moist, humidity is waaay to high. Keep the dome off of it for sure.
Bio-Sponge (peat moss composted fir bark, binding polymer). How do I make a hydroponicsponge not moist?? lol
5.9 is the target PH, but some strains like it higher or lower, it's up to you to determine that. My last journal was Barney Farms LSD and it wanted 6.1 for the PH.
You got more pics of this thing and more details? City water? What is PPM's? What is PH ? etc....Stuff like that. Feeding schedule blah blah
Yep, buy yourself a ph pen. The old school test kits work, but the pens make everything real easy. You dont need the best, maybe mid range around 60 bucks, and an ec meter like a blue lab truncheon. They will be your lifeline to keeping your plants alive. Any other way is a path to failure. You also need to have ph up and down to adjust. Your nutrients will change the ph, so you need to correct it so that it's at an acceptable range. Your plant is already beat up so it might not make it but if you get those things under control it will have a fighting chance. Your nutes are probably too strong, try using half of what they reccomend, and get your ph sorted. Also, be very wary of any company's recommendations. The hydro industry is full of snake oil salesmen who will tell you anything to make money. If you have questions, ask us all, that's why were all here, to share info. There is no failures in this game, only learning experiences.
