  1. One of my teachers told us if we want to grow plants we should start them out on a wet napken until they sprout. Then thats when we put them in soil. Is this the correct way of doing this?

  2. There are a number of ways to germinate seeds. The one you mentioned is the paper towel method. I've always taken this approach, but some people frown upon it because it promotes direct contact with the taproot, which can be very dangerous (if not fatal) to the seedling. Gently grab onto the seed when putting it in soil, not the white root coming out.

Other ways of germination include, but not limited to: sitting in a cup of water, just planting the seed, rockwool, just to name a few. It's probably easiest to just plant the seed and water it, but it's nice to know which ones will and will not make it before we plant them.

    Good luck with growing!

  3. i always put mine in water for 12 hours and then in paper towels until they sprout and that works pretty good.
