First time grower looking for advice

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Biigsafe, May 6, 2020.

  1. 120watt light par value of 1200 at 8inches
lights are roughly 8 inches from plants
    4 weeks from germination
    Grow tent 2X2X3
    Fan on daytime
    Temps 25c day 19c night
    75% humidity
    18/6 light schedule
    Canna Terra seed mix soil
Canna Terra Vega nutes watering 2-3 days
Canna Terra flores for flowering when they get to that stage.

My plants just seem a bit small for 4 weeks old thanks for any advice IMG_20200506_170852.jpg IMG_20200506_171000.jpg IMG_20200506_170939.jpg IMG_20200506_170908.jpg

  2. Not be pedantic but there is no way your light has a PAR value of 1200. My lights have a PAR of around 972umol/s and I have to keep that light about 40" above seedlings and at least 24" off plants less than a month old.

Here is a good link to read to figure out what PAR means, PPF and all that stuff.

How to Evaluate and Compare Grow Lights for Cannabis - Coco For Cannabis

I could probably find out the PAR for your light if you give the brand and model.

They do seem a bit small for 4 weeks which happens when a plant cannot get enough light. Let me know what light you have!

I have this Kingbrite 320W V3 QB288 lm301h 660nm led in 3500K. Could I bother you for my PAR? Thx.

*Edit I think I found it on their website.

  4. That light should have a good PAR value because it's using the lm301 LED chips. I can't seem to find that specific light but I am almost positive that these are the EXACT same parts used in Mars Hydro quantum board lights! Way way cheaper too!

  5. All info is helpful so I'm grateful ️ I didnt buy an expensive light as I'm doing this on a budget I'll link a picture of the light below thanks again. ️I'm unsure of how accurate this is as it was a cheaper light. Screenshot_20200506-121820.jpg

  7. Whats in the pots mate? Looks awfully dense. Poor air flow to the roots will slow them down aswell.

  8. Yeah I have a fan blowing in the day thanks for the input ️I'm going to cut a few holes into the side of each pot to ventilate them more thanks again

  9. I'm using Canna Terra seed mix but I do have biobizz all mix as another soil mix if needed

  10. I wouldn't believe anything posted on Amazon or any site similar to Amazon. At best it's overestimated marketing, at worst it's straight up lies. Who makes your light?

I will attach a picture of my seedlings back in early March. These were around 10 days old. Ignore the tiny guy! I thought I killed her but she lived to be fine!

If you give me the exact brand and model of your light I'd be able to tell you more about it....maybe.

To me it looks like they need more light but I could be wrong! It could be the soil or too much watering too. IMG_20200507_112420.jpg

  11. Hey thanks and yeah I think I've just been drawn into a bit of a scam that's happening with the mislabeling of lights like these I think they are just a cheap one from China I can't seem to find much information about the company esbaybulbs so I think that the lights are the problem.

Weather is starting to look good where I am so I think I'm going to do a guerilla grow outside and see how they do

For the time being I've now got the light 12 inches from the main plants and have the seedlings a bit lower and I've cut some slices in the pots to allow more air flow to the soil. Image.jpg

  12. Ya just go for it man! It's a nice little jump-start in the tent, they should do well outside!!

It's such a shame about the light. You definitely aren't the only person on this forum who got scammed by a shit LED light. I've only just finally switched to LED myself because I knew there was a ton of fuckery regarding power outputs and claims on labels. Ironically I ended up buying lights from a company that has been deeply involved in doing just that, except so far these lights smoke anything else I've seen aside from 600+watt HID lights.

If you ever buy another light ask around on the forums first and ignore anyone who recommends ANY LED that isn't a so called "quantum" board. I know at least in the States you guys can buy better lights than what I have for less than what I paid!
