Hi! I am growing my first plant outdoors in my garden and she's a doozy...... about 10 feet tall and 8 feet wide. The main stem has broken once already but seemed to heal up perfectly with honey and tape. I have several big breaks now, just as I am so close to harvesting. I have applied honey and taped and tied her up but she's still looking wilty; it's so much heavier now with all the buds. The breaks went much further down the stalk. Any advice would be welcome...... attaching pics. Thanks, pals!!!!
You have to support the plant with wooden stakes or something similar as the plant grows. Looks like you have a few weeks left.......try to support as much of the plant as possible to prevent any more breaks from now until harvest. At this stage, breaks do not heal very quickly, so preventing any more is what your focus should be.
I've found a trailer/cargo net form an auto parts store to be of great help in the past to prevent the stems snapping more so in strong winds or laden with buds glad to here you have used organic honey to seal the wounds many honey marketers use preservatives as an additive that only makes things worse good luck
Oh good idea!!! Do you wrap it under the heavy branches and hook it to a top brace of some kind? I'm trying to imagine how that would work.......
maybe get in there and cut out all them dead leaves you may get mold the plant does not need them anymore let the sun hit them buds its time to ripen
