first time grow, setting up lights now! help needed

  1. okay, so i am about to start my first grow. i went in search of lights today and i had a few questions about some lights i am considering that are in my budget
    here is the first light stats

    75W of incandescent equivalent output using only 17W of energy
    Save 78 percent on your utility bills
    Color: 4200K
    Lumens: 1093
    Dimensions: 2.5"W x 2"D x 28"H
    Life: 10,000 hours
    would these work? how many would i need ?
    i am growing either 2 or 3 plants in a smaller area (bigger then close)

    another light i was considering

    im really open up to any suggestions on how to provide my 2-3 plants the light needed.

  2. Jegro: take a close look at T-5's. They're cheap to run, they burn cool and you can keep them close to your plants without too many problems. I love mine. I hope that helps. Hank
     
  3. Jegro: if you go with T-5's use 6,000K for veg and 2,700K for flowering but make sure that your fixture covers every inch of your grow and you should be happy. Hank

  5. I agree with hank, those cfl's are not really "100watt equivalent" because the incandescent bulbs were not suitable for growing at all.

    t5's are the way to go, but it's 6,500k for veg..
