Hi GC. The closet grow I'm setting up is getting more and more complicated as it grows. My plans for soil/fert/potting is to use all organic soil and fert (preferably 20-20-20), with pots ranging to a dixie cup, to a peat pot, to a 1 gallon, then 2 and see if it needs to be expanded after that. Seeds will be bagseed. (Two plants) CFL's, 150 watt, 6500k for Veg, 2700k for flowering, daylight spectrum of course. The hardest part for me will be ventilation. I have no way of using the air ducts, and there are no vents in said closet. My plan is to set up a tall box, hang lights from the shelf inside the closet (the closet is 6'x5') where they can be adjusted with a secure pulley system. I plan on setting up an oscillating fan at light level so that most of the heat of the lights can be counter acted. Now, I have no experience in such matters, but my understanding is that if there is some sort of air flow through it, especially at a higher level, the two plants I plan on will be cooled sufficiently. Smell isn't a problem. Any advice or tips are appreciated.
You're going to need some ventilation. You don't want to leave them in a closed closet. If you could leave the door open with a box fan blowing in that could work.
