Hi folks I'm new and got a couple of questions regarding my plant. First some details. Strain: dutch treat. Stage: seedling. Germinated: 6 days ago. Medium: soil. Grow: indoor. (currently outdoor due to in season) So I found it in a bag of some excellent weed from an I 502 legal marijuana recreational dispensary, (mouth full.) grower is CannaSol. I decided to go for it on a whim and used the paper towel method. I've grown some of the more fickle orchids with no real effort and figured this would be pretty easy considering the strain, which is largely considered an easier strain to grow. So the seed Germinated and produced a taproot. I took a plastic bottle and some soil and poked some holes and stuck it knuckle deep, and went about my business. Since then it has been in the sun as much as possible for about a week more or less. It had been in the same bottle of mud and we had two cloudy days. I bought new medium, organic potting soil from miracle grow, and some varied size pots going up to 12 inches as well as a nutrient formula that's supposed to help with transplanting. I have placed it in the new pot but... I could see no taproot at all! What's more is that the stalk has turned purple. The cotyledons are still green so that's good. I have two led grow lights on the way and am hoping this isn't a loss.
Spangonium peat moss is best for cheap medium with perlite. Many beginners have issues with mirical grow soils. I have experience with only mirical grow dissolvable plant food. And is effective. Look good for 6 days
They look fine. Just dont over water. Let them grow and don't stress them in their early seedling stage. The first week or two are boring. It will get there.
When it hits around 2 weeks to around 3-4 weeks is when growth will likely really explode. Then you'll start the fun part!
need to know what soil and size pots for them to go and they look like there stretching for the light thanks will need to get it today as they shouldnt all be on the same pot i didn't even think they will pop tbh Sent from my Rook from EE using Grasscity Forum mobile app
So update. My plant was outside and loving the sun when I went to the store. I'm at the store and my wife calls saying it was knocked over. Said she saw it happen and repot the plant then and there. Got home and it looked ok, everything intact. Although, she did say that there was no real root on it. Like only a bulb. It shows signs of growth, I can see the second leaves just beginning to form. I feel like it's definitely stunted at this many days, and am seriously worried about the falling accident. Sent from my VS985 4G using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Update: Its growing slowl, second set of leaves are forming. But it appears to be suffering from over watering or under. I'm not sure. Thoughts? I feel like if I could I would transplant and just start over water cycling in my current medium with more perlite. Here are some images below. I'm no longer watering I'm planning on misting. Bump. Could use advice. Strongly feel like I need to hit the reset button if it's an option. Sent from my VS985 4G using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Hi. Just looked at pics . Reg. Wtering ... it looks like ya watering it on top/over the seedling. Waterin a circle around it. Go from about 2inches from stem them water in a circle. It shud luk like yr seedling is within a small circle. This is because it doesnt drown yr roots but dampens soil rond ya roots and also makes the roots griw outwards towards ya water. Im finding it hard to explain as not gud wi explaining things!!! But ive done this for over 6yrs and always ad good stronge roots.. wen ya do transplant wen over shock of being dropped etc then defo mix 50/50 siol to perlite to help wi water and airiation etc. Hope this helps love . Gud luck and all the best xxxx
Sweet thank you I'll try it. So I bought a reflector and a 125 watt cfl, going to pick up a clip on fan to simulate wind. I transplanted this week so I'm not feeling comfortable doing it again, although I did buy perlite for when I do. Sent from my VS985 4G using Grasscity Forum mobile app
