First time cooking and eating edibles

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by Hestekjerre, Jun 14, 2019.

  1. Hey guys! Been browsing this forum and I see there are alot of this "my first time. Is this dosage right"-threads. So here is mine :p Unfortunately where I live weed is not legal, but I hope that some day my country will open it's eyes and see all the benefits. Sorry drifting off here.

So street weed (europe) from what I've read is safe to assume something around 10-15% THC?

I started with only 2,5g of dry weed. Decarbed around 240 F for 40 min and slowly infused it with butter over 2 hours. I grinded it very fine and did not seperate it from the butter. Then baked 6 brownies. So is it safe to say that 1 brownie can contain anything from 41mg (10% thc) to 62,5mg (15% thc)?

I smoke maybe once a week and then I smoke around 1g alone. Thinking of starting with 1 brownie on a rather empty stomach and see how it goes. I wanna get really high.

  2. If your cannabis is potent and you have never done an edible please start with 1/2 brownie. 20 mg may well be all you need. If that's not enough eat more next time.
    Have fun and enjoy!

  3. Thanks for the tip. I'l do that. Gonna try them tomorrow and will give a little report after :) And boy I'm a glad I did a little google search. My plan was to eat 4 of them at once. Figured if I smoke 1g and be fine I could easly eat 3/4 of the batch with 2,5g

  4. The average thc value of 12.5% means that one brownie would have 52 mg thc, which is probably too much. New users are advised to start with 5-10 mg thc.
As Joker has said at most you should eat 1/2 brownie.
Then wait about 60-90 min to see what happens.
With smoking you can immediately tell when you've had too much, but with edibles you can overdose horribly, and not know it for awhile. A big overdose could send you into excruciating paranoia-land.

  5. The Human Liver does this amazing trick to decarbed eaten Cannabis. It changes Delta-9-THC into 11-Hydroxy-THC
11-Hydroxy-THC is roughly 5x as strong and 10x longer lasting.
This is why people get so wrecked on edibles and misjudge their dose.

Eat a half a brownie. Wait 2 hours. Not stoned eat the other half. Again wait another full 2 hours before consuming more. Continue until stoned. Keep track of how many MG it took and you'll know where to start next time.

  8. Okey. So I ate half a brownie 45 min ago. Not feeling much as of now. If I don't feel much after 90 min I think I'l eat one and half more

  9. A couple of tokes off the pipe or joint will boot a low dose edible in the ass for about 45 minutes and bring it up and in your face so try that before eating more edible.

  10. I've said to my self that I would wait 2 hours. Been 1 hour and 44 min and I'm high :) I would say just about perfect high. Can still function but really high. So glad I checked this forum out. With my previous plan I would have been fucked right now.

  12. So last night went really well. If I calculated right I ate around 25mg which was for me the perfect high. I had plans to go and meet som friends, and any higher I think I would have stayed at home :p It peaked around that 1h45min post and just stayed there for a good 4 hours before it stared to decline. I think if I was going to just stay at home and game/watch movies I would eaten some more, but really nice that my first time was so successful considering all the stories I've read about ppl overdoing it. I know now that 11-hydroxy-THC don't fuck around. That shit will creep up on ya.

  14. good decarb :metal:

how did you infuse the butter? and how much butter did you use for just one batch worth?
and for baking 6 brownies, did you use a muffin pan or something? or cut it into 6 pieces?
did you use a mix or go from scratch?

glad that you started with the low dose and ended up happy with it. sounds like a successful day in the kitchen to me.

  16. Thanks!

Had a pre mixed bag from the store for 12 brownies pieces. I only needed to add 100g of butter. Took half the premix and half the butter so 50g of butter. After decard I boiled some water and put a bowl into the water so that the butter had no direct contact. Let the butter melt and added the weed (2,5g of somewhat dry weed before decard). The water boiled but the butter didn't. Stirred now and then for about 2 hours. Baked 6 pieces in a muffin pan.

    Yea glad I did too!
