Ok guys this is my first grow, I did a lot of research but im still an absolute beginner. i have the plants going on a light schedule 13/11 light cycles 13 light 11 night. Should i adjust these times? I have them under some cfl daylight bulbs. I have more space above my setup for more plants. I was thinking about ordering some lowryder seeds and growing a few of those on a shelf above my main plants. I'm also want to FIM the plant i believe (cutting new growth to make 2 new growths) and LST the new growths each way around the pot if that makes any sense. Any input on the health of the plants, setup (i know the light fixtures are ghetto, just hadnt had time to replace it), or anything else you notice. I also water every day in the morning enough to get the soil moist and then i lightly mist the plants. Thanks for any input
I suggest 4 CFLs per plant, and other then that... there lookin good for 9 days. I alsowouldnt suggest spending money on seeds til the ones you have now... are lookin like you know what your doing, you feel me? -Water every other day
Nice little setup you got there unfortunately those cfl's won't be powerful enough to support the veg and flowering stages. Might I suggest going to Lowes and picking up 2 grow bulbs which produce phosphors in the red/blue spectrum. For 2 bulbs and the fixture it cost me 30 bucks and wow does it make a difference with the seedlings. They were a darker shade of green and the leaves grew larger each night substantially rather than using a regular fluoro or cfl. After the seedling stage you should invest in a 250-600w hps light. I'm investing in a 250 simply because I only grow 4-8 plants at a time. Check out the Lowryder 2 seeds. They improved on everything but apparently made the plant smaller. I've been thinking about growing them with 2 led grow panels on each side like the one guy did with his PC grow box. That looked awesome. They'll set you back a few bucks since theyre 58$ for 10, and the feminized seeds are even more expensive and they only give you 5. I'd personally grow the super silver haze myself (my next harvest). I'm currently growing some THC Bomb and Mazar X Afghan which looks like it'll be some crraazzyyyyy ass bud. Well happy growing dude, peace.
Any reason for the 13/11 schedual? That seems strange to me. Are you trying to flower them from seed? If you are go to 12/12. If your not trying to flower the little plants now, forget this 13/11 and go 24/0 or at least 18 light 6 dark. You'll prolly want to look into more CFL's as the plants get a little bigger youre going to need more light. So far they look alright but what are they a few days old? Get those lights a little closer if you can no closer than 2" though till there a little bigger.
listen to rcx1215 and leave your lights on 24/7. some cfls arent going to effect your electric bill significantly. use bottled or distilled water and water them all at one time, only when u go back to them and the soil is dry 1.5 or 2 inches down the topsoil to the touch of your finger...
ok its 11 days old now and still hasnt shown much growth. Is this normal or should i be seeing more fan leaves coming out or does it really grow this slow?
You need to do a little research, but I'll help you out: Seedling stage = 2-3 weeks (where you're at now); the plants are just establishing a strong root system. Vegetative stage = As long as you want it to be I guess. Grow your plants to be 1/3-1/2 their final height here. This is the stage in their life where your plants actually grow (and rather fast, an inch or two a day is not uncommon) Flowering stage = Strain dependant. 8-12 weeks. This is when they flower (bud).

Don't look at them so often. I had a bad habit of checking on my grow throughout the day, things seemed like they almost never grew. As soon as you start only looking at it and caring for it only when it needs it, things will seem to grow a lot faster, you'll probably be surprised....
