First outdoor grow

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by HanBrolo82, Jun 6, 2019.

  1. Hey everyone! Trying a first time outdoor grow in hopes of a new hobby to help with 20 years of bad depression...here’s a few pictures of what I have going (3 gg#4 bagseeds , although I have no idea if that’s what it was)

  2. The first 2 pictures are the ones that sprouted first on June 1 . The second three are all if them 6/2 . The last 3 are today 6/5. I need to do something to identify which is which. 1 of my alleged sour diesel popped up today as well. As far as my materials I have them in plastic pots I picked up at Walmart I poked holes around base of. My potting soil is also the Walmart brand. My budget for the rest of this is maybe 75$? Any tips or diy mulch’s/fertilizer/pesticide recipes I can make at home and are safe to be around or ingested would help. Again as I stated in post I’m trying to turn around how I have spent my entire life feeling. I don’t have friends but I do have a big family wife 4 kids who support me in this but have no interest in it whatsoever. Bottom line is grass does make me feel better, so why not finally make it a hobby and use that act of cultivation as en escape as much as getting high?

  3. Ok #1 thing u need is perlite in ur soil! This will help ur roots get air. Like 30%. So if u experience slow ugly growth, this will be a major reason why! If u can describe ur grow that will help! Do u have a pH and ec meter? Before u start feeding u need to be able to adjust ur pH or let's say check it. U will need some pH up and down. Than after u are able to do that, u can start feeding like every other water. Like week 2. U could get by with the fox farm trio for u first grow. If u want to when they flower get some Beastie blooms and Cha ching for bigger more resinis buds! So if u know that soil u used that will be big. Some bag soils have time release nutes in it like miracle grow! That can really fuck up ur grow. So ur water and feed need to be phed to 6.3 - 6.8
Here is the feeding chart so look at how to feed

  4. Sorry trio is grow big big bloom and tiger bloom. So u give them bb and gb until they start flowering. So when they start to flower they will stretch and like double in size in like 2 weeks. So after that and u see buds u will quit using grow big and just use bb and tb

  5. How do I mix the perlite with soil? Also should I leave them in pots or at some point remove and put in ground? I priced these on amazon . Do these volumes seem enough if two or three wind up female?

  7. And do the prices seem competitive as these make most of budget. Thanks again for reply and advice. I’ve read a million of these but nothing prepared me for how much goes into this . Planning, prep, materials and most of all experience yikes! Well it’s 9:10 pm in the burbs of Detroit and it looks beautiful outside. I will update and check back as much as possible

  8. I understand where you are coming from with your reasons for growing. If you are in a legal state I’m sure that growing could be therapy in itself like any other garden. How big are your containers? 5 gallon buckets with holes in the bottom (or bottom cut out) will give the roots plenty of room. Happy growing.:vaping:

  9. I think 30% is what perlite ratio u wanna have take ur soil volume guesstimate the perlite ratio

  10. Over grow legal state or not i wish you luck my friend

  11. Just use some decent soil, you don't even need nutrients if your soil is good until flowering. Then when your plants to flower you can feed them some bloom, I get mine from Royal Queen Seeds.
PH shouldn't be a huge factor to affect your grow, The ph of my plants are about 6.9-7.0.
    Happy growing

  12. Awesome info man . I have them in 5 gallon with holes in bottom . All seem like they are growing well in the potting soil I got from Walmart. I’m in a legal recreational state, Suburb of Detroit , and when I asked the lady at the municipal building about any city ordinances against growing she said just keep it behind fence and no more than 12 . I will take a picture-of grow area after I mow yard after work. If anyone has some suggestions as to moving in to ground ( how large plant should be ,or prep that should be done) or training that might be beneficial. Also know I have several weeks until they show sex so I want to be prepared to make most out of this. I told my wife someone used the term grow therapy and we love it! This community seems to already be becoming what I’ve been looking for. Thanks again everyone. Will put pictures up tonight

  13. Have fun man. Love outdoor growing. Did it a couple years up here in NorCal. Making the switch to indoor because I don't need pound plants and indoor produces better buds.

  15. Hey guys took a few pictures of each tonight after I mowed the yard. Tomorrow I’m going to order some ph up and down and a bag of perlite . I think I may be able to pick up a few clones from a guy who works next door to me and was thinking maybe at 15 a piece I should spend the 45 of my 75$ budget on three to perhaps give myself some better odds? I guess the main thing is that I don’t want this to be something I’m worried about in a negative way. Advice from anyone on balance of time /money/ expectation/stress ? I need to keep everything as realistic as possible but I also am trying to develop a positive hopeful outlook . I’m usually the most pessimistic fatalistic Eeyore. I think I can beat it though

  16. Sorry that was from last night I didn’t hit post . Ha! Well here’s some from tonight. The other two “sour diesel “ never popped up dang it. 1 of my 3 that are seemingly doing well is much shorter but seems healthy ?? 1st picture with blue lighter is the short one. It’s drizzled last couple of dats but the last 2 have been pretty sunny. These are from tonight

  17. Gardening of any sort shouldn’t be a constant source of stress. You will encounter some issues. That is a given. Just take some time to read and ask questions. If you are in a legal state then that’s a stress relief for sure.

  18. Personally I wouldn’t worry about wasting money on clones right now. Get your perlite definitely and ph tester and up down so you know you have that under control. I started growing for med replacement for ptsd and pain but what surprised me is that growing itself turned into meds as well. When I’m not with my plants I’m reading about growing or tending to my compost etc. keeping my mind busy and just really getting into and it’s really helped me in a way I never expected. So my advice is, stay simple for now don’t try to grow like a professional, grow like a novice and make mistakes and learn and the therapy you get from it may surprise you as well, at least I hope! Best of luck to you.

  19. Also if you want to save money look into going organic start a compost pile and costs will drop drastically. My next grow is looking to cost me $0. Look into Kellogg potting soil make sure it’s the potting soil as they have several varieties at Home Depot/Lowe’s I picked up a huge bag for 6 bucks it’s organic and already has perlite (although I’d still add some perlite and when you think it’s enough add a little more).

  20. Dseb0127 thanks for the info . I will follow your advice and stick to what I have now without piling more on plate . Im happy to hear you have received some relief from the gardening, and research that goes with it. The beginning of my week was super tough but the last two days haven’t been so bad. I have enjoyed going out back each night to look and take some pictures . As Sunday is my only day off from work I will go buy some of the Kellogg’s you recommend. Will post some more pics as I take them each evening. I am grateful to everyone who has taken time out of their day to give me some guidance. Have a great day everyone!
