First Outdoor grow got a couple questions

  1. Hi GC
I'm planing on planting a Hawaii Maui Waui next season.
Grow your own Hawaii Maui Waui? Yes you can! – Nirvana Shop

I'm just wondering if other people have grown this strain. I know it's mostly a sativa so it's going to be big. Just looking for a rough estimate of size as I'm going to fence it of with chicken wire, weld mesh or something similar. This is due to that there will be sheep in the same area as the grow space. Any tips for a fence/cage appreciated.

Also what is everyone opinions on lining the hole with plastic. I have pretty clayey soil so I'm going to replace with a homemade soil. Not sure which one yet still researching that.

    Cheers
    Ben

  3. I like finding a patch of stinging Nettles. Cut them to the ground and lay them flat where you cut them. They are a dynamic accumulator. Dig your hole in the center and drop your plant in. You do realize the Maui waui is a 12 week + strain.I wouldn't attempt growing that outdoors in the northern part of the US. You'll run out of time before it finishes.

  4. I agree with the above poster that you will not be able to finish this stain unless you live in the southern US.

Dig a hole 2x2 feet and fill with an organic soil (check the organic stickies, I use ITG's easy soil mix for beginners). This way you can water only for the whole grow and your plants should do great.

I'm guessing your planning for next season?

  5. Thanks for the tip
Don't live in the US and live in a semi-arid climate (southern hemisphere)

  6. Yeah been reading organic forums there's some good stuff on there. Planning on growing outdoor later this year. I'm currently on my first grow (indoor) and loving it about a week off finishing. I would have rather some quicker finishing seed but they were given to me for free. Probably going to go a bigger hole about 1m by 1m.

  7. 1 cubic meter sounds excellent, until you start digging, then even more regret once you have to get enough dirt to the site to fill it.

  8. Growing on my land so not a problem transporting soil and don't mind a bit of work. The soil surrounding it is pretty shit for cannabis. Bit of extra work for a better plant I'm fine with that

  9. Look for a spot where your native weeds grow very well, they will likely be your local dynamic accumulators. They will help you pick the best location. I grow as mentioned above. ZERO watering or amending the soil. I live on a flood plain, heavy clay soil. I've grow huge plants in nettle patches. I also look for the lowest pocket within the patch keeping in mind I don't water, I rely on natural rainfall.
