Ok, this will be the official thread of me and my two companions grow this season. Im sure i will encounter problems and have questions that will have to be asked, Lets waste no time. Thank you to everyone that helps out! We bought 30 Gold Skunk seeds, and a ten pack of mixed ones. ie (white widow, skunk 1 and 5 Chronic x bigbud, narpal and i cant think of the other ones) well anyways, we've spent a good amount of money on these and we dont want anything screwing up. I have spent many many hours reading and i feel confident how these plants will turn out. - I need to know how to acuire and good germination tip.? I was going to do the paper towel trick, keep moist and warm, dark area. - Start outside in a green house was tap root has been formed and put into soil. - Grow in 16oz cups untill root system is good. then move into large holes filled with good store bought soil. Ferts will be used as needed. - Train plants, topping and tying to branches around or stakes in the ground, To obtain maximum Yeild. - Maintain untill harvest. - chop outside and hang upside down for a night, come back the next day to trim and bag, move indoors to cure. This is only a start but whatever you guys think i should do then please let me know, any help is greatly appriciated. happy growing!
Well hello all , ive noticed that no one has replied on any of this, well thats fine someone must be reading it. well this is an UPDATE on how things are going. Our first 30 gold skunk and 10 mix pack got messed up and died! but we went back out and bought another 30 pack of gold skunk. We planted them on June 4th. They are on Day 29 and about a foot tall. They would have been bigger but i put some more soil around the stems so they would develop a bigger root system and grow strong. They are in 6L containers with good soil. Im waiting untill i can tell the sex before i move them into the ground. But i have a few more questions. - Its about time now to put some ferts in with the soil. Ive heard Miracle grow (with a high nitrogen for vegging obviously) or any miracle grow in that case is no good for the plants. I know they make like vegtable food and stuff but is that no good for the plants? - If i dont top the plants i know that will decrease my yeild, but it is an idica strain, will it make that much difference? If do how and where do i cut the plant to top it? - You guys know what spit bugs are? They attach to the stems and produce a spit like ball around them? I dont know if they are doing anything but there are little brown holes and some of the bottom leaves are goiung brown, is this due to the bugs or the sun they are getting. The fan leaves are pretty big so i figured that they could be taking away from the little leaves light. But i just snipped them off anyways. Well Ill get back to this in a couple more weeks, maybe with some photos. Thanks alot duuuudddeeesss! Peace.
For veg us something with a npk of 20-20-20 or what I use is fish emulsion 5-1-1 For flower I mainly use Schultz 10-54-10. Both can be found at local flower shops or even possible a large retail store. Why don't you LST your plants? Just tie them over and the lower branches and such with grow out like cola's Pics would be great man, more people would take interest as well
hey thanks alot man, i heard that something during veg like a high nitrogen levels and lower potassium produce more females from the seed bed ? what do you think? How well has the 20-20-20 done you? thanks alot, happy tokin.
i dunno about it being able to produce more females but i do believe that the more u prune and top the more chances u have of getting males. a couple times is ok but i went overboard with a batch and all were male to be honest i use the fish emulsion over the 20-20-20 it works very good and i notice a speed-up in growth and size dramatically using it. so i will stick with that for sure. i feed them sometimes 2 times a week with it because it is very easy on plants and never causes burn.
I agree a + for fish emulsion. But sometimes may attract unwanted criters. Miracle grow water souluble all purpose plant food is also a good feed at a 1/2 or 1/4 dose. GL
Very true NJ. Fortunately I haven't had much critter problems but some people have a helluva time with emulsions
I'm using foxfarms nutes this year, I've heard very good things, all organic and includes the fish stuff, and bat guano, and worm castings and other goodness. Just a thought. Only used it once so far, and that was a few days ago, so no noticible difference from not using it last year yet.
all of these sound good, ill try to get some of that fish stuff, but where do you get it? Im plannin on tying some of the plants down (LST) to maximize my yeild.
I got my last bottle of fish emulsion from a local garden center. Only $2.50. LST would be a good idea sandman. Bigger yeild and they will be hidden alot easier when the foliage starts to die around harvest time.
Ok well it sounds good, im going out tomorrow to throw up chicken wire and dig holes for the babies. Ill tie some down and hopefully get some pics for you guys. THanks alot duuudes.
