Hello all, This is my first attempt at a hydroponic indoor grow and I'm going to be using Grasscity as my personal grow journal from start to finish. I hope my attempts and the input from the community can be a learning experience for us all. First of, some background on the setup and what I'm going to be doing. I plan to be using a 15 plant hydroponic setup from Chronicponic but I'm open to other suggestions. I'm most likely going to be using a 225 or a 450 LED lamp, it's an experiment so why not. I haven't read much on growing with LED's but from what I have read it looked promising. 25 seeds of kush are going to be ordered from bcseedking I'm probably also going to buy a roll of mylar to section off my closet shown in the pictures below. My plan is to cover the small area (roughly 12" back and 3' across) with the mylar and drape another sheet over the clothes rack bar so it's completely enclosed. Obviously the room will be cleared out before anything is put in. I was thinking about using low stress bending to produce more bud in the end. Is it worth it though and do I run the risk of completely screwing up an entire plant? All of this has plans to move forward within the next week and I'll update when I know more. Sounds like a good idea, but you could have at least cleaned out the closet before posting pics. J/K happy growing mang!
15 plants may be a bit much for a closet that size. You might consider down-sizing a bit. Using LST is a great method, and you can't really screw up your plants using it. Good luck and keep us posted!
I can't imagine more that 5 let alone 15 plants in there. I am doing a closet grow as well. link in signature. I'd say 5, im using a ufo and bloomingindica in here just harvested from a ufo grow, all sounds good besides that 15 plant thing
Hello all again, So plans have been changed and now in progress. 15 plants was unreasonable, I was getting carried away. Instead I'm going to grow 5 plants of AK48 (from dope-seeds.com) in a hydroponic system. I've personally never heard of the strain but one of my buddy's was telling me it's really nice. It supposively grows in quickly, 48 days! Anyone heard of this bud and would recommend it? I'm contemplating creating a bubble bucket for each plant ... or are there simplier methods to create a bubble bucket that connects to all the other buckets? I am on a budget and uneducated about hydroponics. The 450 LED light is going to be ordered during the week and so is the mylar roll and everything else needed for a complete closet grow. I'm getting anxious!
Okay, so here are the official plans. I'm flip-flopping on ideas because I'm trying to experiment with what would be the best way to grow my babies. I'm now thinking LED isn't the way to go but rather CFL lighting. What do you think? Also, here are my plans for my hydroponic setup. 1x 35-gallon bin 6x 6" netcups 2x Top Fin® XP-30 Air Pumps 1x 6pack Top Fin® Airstones with Nozzles 1x 8' Silicone Airline Tubing 4x Aquarium Check Valves Essentially I'm going to be following rumpleforeskin's guide only instead of one 5-gallon bucket I'm going to be using it in a 35-gallon bin. I'm getting two airpumps because I want to make sure there is enough air being circulated in the water. Each pump has two lines making it possible to power 4 airstones. Still no idea on what to use for nutrients. Suggestions?
48 days? Not hardly.....most autoflowers take about 80 days (plus or minus a few days). If it sounds too good to be true, it often is. For nutes, the General Hydroponics 3 part (grow, bloom, and micro) is a good choice. Start at half strength and gradually move up.
I'm only stating what the website told me however I know it's going to take more then 48 days regardless because I plan on using LST. The seeds are going to be ordered tomorrow so hopefully within the next week we'll have the bubbleponic system all ready to go.
Yeah im helping and doing everything with bones We were looking into all different kinds of lighting for the 5 plants we will be growing, and thought that LEDs were a good idea and good choice, but were not too sure. We were looking into MH, HPS, CFL, and LEDs What lights do you guys think works best and can you give me some suggestions of lights i can look into Thx
