Hey guys! I'm starting my first grow and I just wanted to post so I could get some advice and maybe even some tips and tricks!

I started off germinating 2 mango, 2 blueberry, and 2 durban poison. All but one Durban poison sprouted.

    I have a 4x2x6 ft tent
Adjustable MH/HPS light with 250, 400, and 600 watt light

I started my seedlings in a 50/50 mix of peat moss and perlite with a little bit of dolomite. Not sure what soil I'm gonna use when I transplant, so I'm down for suggestions; but I'm kinda on a budget.

I got the fox farm trio for nutrients when the time comes.

I have a 6in fan that I keep on low, a 6in inline fan that is exhausting out of the tent and cooling my lights.

I'm on day 2 of the seedling stage!

  2. I watered today for the first time since putting them in the soil. I checked the soil runoff and it was around 7.2 ph so I watered and got it down to about 6.8 for all of them. I think I put a little too much dolomite to counteract the peat moss acidity.

  3. Fox farms happy frog is pretty good soil to use.

  4. Thanks. I've heard about that one and Ocean Forest. Do you have any input on my runoff ph? I don't know too much about the ph stuff yet, but is 6.8 still too high for runoff?

  5. I never measure runoff ph... so I'm not the one to answer that.

  6. Day 7 of seedling stage for these girls. They're growing pretty nice. I have them under 400 MH lights and they're not doing any stretching. I water every 3 days right now, but their cups seem pretty bone dry after 2 days. So far so good though![IMG]

  7. Ocean forest has alot of nutes. Be careful with it. Alot of wood also. Go with happy frog not ocean forest . I used both in my last grow

  9. That's a nice grow! I've been thinking about doing equal parts peat moss, earth worm castings, and perlite when I transplant. I'll have to watch pretty closely for nutrient deficiencies, but I'll save some money. And I have Fox Farm's nutes trio. Any thoughts?

  10. Don't over think a soil grow. Don't freak out about ph either. Your soil is a buffer . if u check the ph of the soil and its 7 or over Dr schools lime does work. Mix with your water. And feed a couple days . soil is forgiving.my advice to you is toward the end of your grow. Use bio bud as a foilar spray and feed. Shit really works . I have tons of pics but a plant 13 inches tall I got a qp out of dry haha[IMG][IMG]

  15. I watered today and it looked like a couple of my plants were starting to struggle a little bit. The few that looked a little off were starting to droop. I thought it was because I waited 3 days to water (I let them get completely dry before each water) but they haven't perked up. Now I'm thinking it's because I need to transplant soon?

  18. What kind of soil u using for those babies? Tell me its not brand new soil? They look kinda yellow in the pics

  19. I used a 50/50 mixture of peat moss and perlite, toned it down with a little dolomite. And as far as the color goes, I think I see a little bit of yellow coming in, but not too bad yet. I think that would also subside if I transplant into some fresh soil. I haven't given any nutes yet, and they're almost 2 weeks along.

  20. Yea move them to what u plan on growing in. Keep them moist that's less stress on them. Being dry in that Lil cup is stressing em out
