First Grow

  1. Hello everyone, this is my first grow, have done a bunch of reading, but as you know experience is the key.  Some basic info about the grow, indica dominant strain, using vermifire soil with light (25-50%) strength nutes (Botanicare starters kit), around 6 ph.  Room cycles between 75 and 90 degrees with a humididty between 25-40%, my 24 hr hi/lo tells me it gets to 90, highest ive seen is 88, 90 must be happening in the middle of the night.  They are all about 8 inches tall in 1 gallon pots under 1000w HPS, Thinking its about time for their last transplant to 5 gallon.  Here are my questions,  I started from good seeds( no grab bag) the plants all seemed to be doing really well until about a week ago.  Plant 2 has one set of very wilted looking leaves, dark dark green but wilted, any ideas of what that could be?  Also on a few of the plants the outter tips look to be burned in small sections?  Last, as you can see from the pics they are pretty droopy, I accidently under watered ( and I am 100% sure it was under watered, WAS NOT OVER WATERED) any extra care i should give them after this mistake? and any advice the pros can give me if you see ANYTHING that could be a future problem or tips that you think could help?  Thanks everyone for the help

Plant 3 looks the best, besides the tip and light spots, its leaves are still sitting high
Plant 2 has the wilted leaves, not real droppy, looks ok
Plant 1 took the underwatering the hardest, its been fairly droppy since.
Plant 4 also didnt like the underwatering not looking great

How old are they from sprout?

  3. It first popped through the soil on June 26.  Got them in the 5 gallon pots today. Three look pretty good, the one is still really droopy

  4. Buy some cal/mag

  5. Dude - do not panic, they are not looking to bad. A bit of cal mag won't hurt as blackmore says so you can try that. All in all they look ok.

  6. Cool, thanks everyone. The three that werent droopy handled the transfer really well, the droopy one still isnt lovin life. I think im going to water tonight when the lights come back on ill add some cal mag n see what happens. thanks again

  7. if u r sure about the over watering under watering , then the wilting is coming from heat stress, if its staying at 88-90F all night . A few hours here and there of high temps dont matter.
    also am i understanding u correctly u r running them for 24hrs?
If so that also is causing them to wilt a bit , i noticed that also when i tried the 24hr method , and u know what everything i was told bad about the 24hr period was true . its a waste if u r doing it 24hrs , if anything do it for 20hrs . the down time is when the plants lay more roots. If u cut off ur lights for a few and give the plants some dark time they will perk back up .

Wikipedia actually has a source where somebody did the 24hr vs 18hr lights on , and the end results were always the same . Its under "cannabis cultivation", was one of the first full readings i did before i got into growing .

  8. I am on the 18/6 cycle.  I got them into a 2/3 fox farm 1/3 happy frog mix and they are loving!!! it.  I went to a local hydro shop and now have a good contact on all things nutrients. Tip for new growers: learned today that if you are adding nutrients to purified water add cal mag first it keeps the nutrients from bonding which helps with lockout.

  9. And ya i think you were right wilting is from heat. got even more heat control in there and it is going away
