Bagseeds, this is the beginning to my cycles I'm going to try to keep up this journal while I upgrade and watch my babies grow. Right now I have a 19w cfl lights of America, a 13w topstar cfl and a 14w flourescent. Not sure what soil, I have a fan circulating throughout the closet. If you have any suggestions (remember to keep it low budget) let me know.
Update: the extra cfls are really helping with overall growth. The leaves are really starting to form and the stem grew about 1 inch in like 7-8 hours. Suggestions? PS. The other seedling died)': rip
Update: just bought some stuff anyone have an idea on how/what I could wire a light socket too so I can plug onto the wall? It just has the p and n wires hanging out. Btw I got a new 250w ge heat lamp
Update: I got it I'm planning to save up for a couple days and get some clones and more lights. Anything I should put on the shopping list? And its got to be cheap as possible lol
not dissin your setup, but you need to take that heat lamp out of your grow space. that lamp alone puts out far less lumens per watt then the cfl's you have in there. get a couple of Y adapters from lowes/home depot and a bulk pack of cfl's. in either 6500k or 2700k spectrum, both will give you acceptable growth rates, they are easier to maintain the ambient temperature of your grow space compared to that heat lamp.. also you are going to want those cfls within 3-4 inches from the top of your plants. they throw light out from the sides and only has a usable range of about 6-7" max. any further away from your plants and they wont be getting all of the light they should. this will also help keeping the plants short and compact with tight internodal spacing.
Ohh damn well I switched it out temporarily with a 13w cfl until I can go to the store and get more. When I was there earlier I was about to buy those y adapter things but idk why I didn't. I'm going to add 3 y adapters, you think that will be good for the 4-5 clones I'm going to get?
Update: I hooked up my other cfl what do you guys think? Will this be ok for a couple days? Also, the baby has straightened up alittle bit but is being slow as far as leaf development but that's probably because it had a mf' heat lamp on it today-.- but it's ok.
Just a quick building update I've started to put up electric blankets around the room and hooked up a couple lampholders. I was thinking about putting ages of 3 y adapters into each lampholder so after shopping ill have something like 4 lampholders with 104 actual Watts on each so that I can be ready for when I get some clones from the club. Any suggestions on what else I should add onto the room?

Check my purple diesel journal, its a cheap setup and worked PERFECT. Walmart and everywhere else sells reflectors. Get 2 big round reflectors with sockets, and 2 y adapters. Put 2 6500k for Veg, 2 2700 lights in each for Flowering. That's enough light for 1 plant. Keep hem about 5 inches from the plant. Take those electric blankets and heating lamp down man. Go to walkmart in the fishing section. They sell emergency blanket in a small box for like 2 bucks. Make a cardboard box or something into a grow box and line the inside with the emergency blanket. That stuff delectable like a champ and will make u lights run way better! Either that or paint it flat white.
And r u growing in soda cans??? Shame on u sir lol. Those r gonna heat up and can cause mold in Ur soil. Just buy a small planter at Walmart for like 3 bucks. If there's not drain holes on the bottom, cut some urself. Ull need to have some drainage.
The only reason I put that heating lamp back in yesterday is because it pushes the temp in the room from 67f to 70. And lmao I was at first put I got rid of it and I have planters. Also I don't want a micro grow because soon I will be getting 3-6 clones.
Update: just fixed up the lights I got right now so ill be ready for a clone later ill post a pic when I get it.
Alittle more cleaning up the wires and tomorrow ill hopefully be getting my clones I haven't been able to go get 6500k cfls or y adaptors but those will be soon. But check it out
