First Grow, What Strain is good for newbs?

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by LetGo, Sep 2, 2012.

  1. Hey, Looking for my first grow indoors. Looking to go through attitude and need a good first strain that wont be to hard to maintain being my first grow.

Not really picky on Indica/sativa, I want Indcia, gf wants sativa. Maybe looking for a hybrid. But if its one of the other I am fine with both. Not really concerned on the yield the first grow as long as it grows SOMETHING! and I have some at the finish line.

    Thanks,
    LetGo!

  2. Not sure if this will be any help but I'm new as well. Have a few pre 98 og bubbs kush and they are very easy to grow. I didn't use any nutes for the first two months but am using fox farms nutes now and they are growing like crazy. This is an indoor soil grow fyi. I've never grown anything before besides house plants but it seems very easy as long as you have a general grasp of the idea. Spend some time around this site as well as youtube. Knowledge is power!

  3. Northern Lights is a good beginner breed, it's very hardy, good yield, potent, indica dominant, a great all round breed that has stood the test of time. It's a proper stable breed too not like a lot of these crosses that has only a couple of traits locked down. It seems these days anyone who crosses two breeds makes up a name for it and calls it a breed

  4. Thanks. Ya knowledge is def power.. Been doing my youtube rounds and grasp the idea.

Well I actually bought some today, said it was hardy and good.
I bought 5 fem "white bomb" A mixture indica/sativa and a cross breed. Hopefully it turns out well. Also getting some fem freebies.

If I plan on only using this for personal use for 2 people, smoking once/twice a day, should I plant all 5 seeds? or do like 2 seeds and save the 3?
I know yields vary on EVERYTHING but on guestimation of how many seeds should I plant at start?

  5. Plant all of them and take a couple if clones of each and flower them. When the male flowers show themselves bin then along with the corresponding parent plants

finish flowering the female clones and pick the best one. Flower all the other plants. Then keep that single best female and take clones off it and grow them for a few weeks then flower

the problem with seeds, they are always a gamble, even with very stable breeds

  6. Sorry just realised you bought feminised. So you probably won't get any males. Careful of stressing the plants as they will always have a tendency to pop out a few male flowers and give you seeds. If you like seeds this may even be preferable :)

  7. So should I plant all if they are all fem?

  8. You can check my auto grow out below, these ares some SUPER easy plants to grow, and if you're a first time grower auto's might be worth your while, they mature WAYYY faster than photoperiod plants, and I've smoked some dank auto's...the smell coming off my girls makes me excited to tastes these as well. :bongin:

As far as seeds for auto's I recommend...
Afghan Kush Ryder - World of Seeds
Super Sonic Cristal Storm - Samsara Seeds
    Short Ryder - Nirvana Seeds

I'm not going to recommend Blue Mammoth, it's been more difficult then the other auto's I've grown...looks like it will produce nicely though.

    Photoperiod
    Pineapple Express- G13 Labs
    Blue Mystic- Nirvana Seeds
    Bubbleicious- Nirvana Seeds

    Later man :bongin:

  9. I would yes, and I would clone them to find the best one as explained above. It may not be for you though

  10. Id go for anY auto strain its goods for beginner s because you don't have to worry about your light cycle aS much and your can pretty much get through there life cycle with Minimal feedings
