I have everything setup, it's been 3 days since I planted my seeds and the main problem I have been worrying about is the soil getting to dry. I know your suppose to keep 1inch from the surface of the dirt moist but the 250W lamp I got over it is making the dirt dry way fast, I don't know if I am not watering enough or not. Here are some pics, how much water should I put in these containers, what can I do to make the soil not get so dry so fast. I tested it, I stuck my finger in the soil and it was not even moist half way through the soil after like 5 to 7 hours of light.
Lots of things in those pics to pick up on, none of them good. What's with those containers? Clear is no good, can't expose the roots to light. Too wide and shallow, you want some depth. Drainage holes? What are they sitting on? What kind of soil is that?
Will tape the containers so they are not clear. There are drainage slits at the bottom, they are under more containers so I don't have to clean the drippings of the water off the table. Also the soil, all I know is that it is potting soil mixed with nutrients and little amounts of ash given to me by a friend.
