First grow, trying to Manifold

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by parlevoo, Feb 28, 2019.

  1. Hey guys. Doing my first proper grow and trying out manifolding.

Any advice on how in doing?

    How does she look?

What is the next step? Do I just let it go now? Or top when all the shoots grow out to the 4th node.

Have just topped the ends of each runner.

  6. You're doing a good job at training but it's not really a manifold/mainlining. It appears you topped only once and lst'd which creates multiple grow tips - not a bad thing. But mainlining is creating 8-16 main tops by topping 3 or 4 times and all the growth beneath your top is removed. I follow Nugbuckets' Mainlining Tutorial on Growweedeasy. Good luck.
This is a pic of a plant that has been topped 3 times to create 8 main tops - notice all the growth below the top is removed.

  8. Got ya. Mine has been topped three times. Once at the middle, and then once after the first Runners on each side. And I have just topped ever end.

So essentially if I was to remove all the stem buds and just go with the very end buds on each stem I would be main lining?

Would the be better over letting all the stem bud sites grow up into new tops?

  9. Basically, the red/yellow is my mainline.

The yellow tips are shoots that have run and been topped.

Should I cut all the pink lines to just keep the manifold true, and remove all bud sites on the stems except the tops?

  10. I am currently doing a mainline on 5 plants, and frankly I probably won't do it again because of the added time - I'll stick to doing lst. If you wish to do a true mainline then yes you should remove the other growth, but it won't yield you more in the end. Personally I would let it grow the way it is and just do some lst to keep the canopy even. Good luck to you.

  11. Ok thank I will do. Would you say that it will be quite the Bush? I figure if all those nodes grow out there will be so many tops lol

  12. Considering the amount of potential tops that you have, it will be bushy. You can always remove some of the grow tips if it becomes a problem.
