First Grow - Special Kush - Delicious Fruity Chronic Juice

Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by Stoned Ghost, Aug 8, 2012.

1. Hey everyone.

Decided to finally attempt a grow.

I have successfully germinated both seeds and they are now in a mixture of Amgrow - Pot 'n' Peat Black Label Soil and a bit of Perlite.

Currently under 2 18w 2700k CFL's until they sprout and are big and strong enough to withstand the 2 105w 6500k CFL's I have.

No pictures as of yet. Will take photos tomorrow.

Hope you can all stick around and help me out with this grow! :bongin:

2. What are you doing for ventilation?

3. Once the cab is built. I'll have 2 x 120mm fans exhausting heat from the hood and a 250mm fan exhausting out the top of the cab.

4. I'll be interested to see how the Fruity Chronic Juice turns out. I got some seeds from Attitude but I switched my strain at the last minute to to DJ Short's Grape Krush.

5. Me too. Doesn't seem to be a popular strain.

Being my first grow, i stress about everything. Like the seeds will never sprout. im so impatient.

24 hours since potted so far, Still under the CFL's but i have put the pots on top of a 'Heat 'n' Grow' tray. As they are in my shed. Quite cold over there.

6. are they bagseed? i believe i read somewhere that blue spectrum gives more females and red gives more males, fyi

7.
are they bagseed? i believe i read somewhere that blue spectrum gives more females and red gives more males, fyi
The color of the light has nothing to do with it.

The sex of the plant is DNA, genetics...jas zero to do with light or color.

Just like people the seed is either Female/male/transgender.... lol bout a 50/50 chance

8. Unless of course you buy a femenized seed...then theres no worries. Aside from hermi

9. you sure about that? because i read for hundreds of hours of material and i do not believe everything i hear.

also certain levels of chemicals can aparently attribute to sex

Yea 100% sure. If you read something that said blue light or red light will have anything to do with the sex of a MJ plant then you were either to high or misunderstood what you were reading.

Certain chemicals will allow a female plant to produce male parts, but the reason you do that is to have feminized seeds.

But it no way does the color of the light effect it being solid male or female.

If you have 2 bag seeds side by side chances are 1 is a male and 1 is a female...its not always like that but thats an easy way to look at it.

I would like to view the hours of material you read that led you to believe that diff. Spectrums of light have an effect on the sex of a plant.

You use blue for veg. Red for flowering. Maybe that tid bit confused you.

11. lol no, I read somewhere that the color of spectrum can contribute to the sex of a seedling.

since other things can contribute to this...why cant the light?

12. Nothing contributes to the sex of a seedling other than it being a male or a female from the get go. The sex doesnt happen during growth the genetics inside the seed are either male or female from the very moment the seed is formed.

When you stick 2 random bag seeds in the dirt you have ZERO ZERO ZERO point ZERO chance of manipulating its sex With light.
/
After a female plant is budding there are certain chemicals and honestly i dont know there names, that you can spray on the buds that will cause that site to create male parts (trans gender , or hermi) which in turn will create FEMALE ONLY seeds.

Blue light spectrum is the color of light a plant gets during veg in nature so indoors you mimic that by using a blue light spectrum during your VEG cycle

Red/white light spectrum is what a plant gets during flowering in nature so indoor you mimic that by using a red/white light spectrum during your flowering cycle.

The sex isnt determined by light, or manipulated by light and it is honestly blowing my mind that this kind of information is floating around...i hope your one of few.

13. What a lovely thing to wake up to.

They are both Fem seeds. so we need not worry about that..

Shed is locked at the minute, mum has the key. so i wont be getting in until she gets back home.

Updates soon.

I'm hoping their okay. :bongin:

15. Lookin good, a day or two and they will be standing up with the leaves open.

16. What kind of soil is that. It looks like it has old
Roots in it lol

17. Thankyou for the feedback.

Should the cotyledons be curling in like this?

They actually curl up to the extent they are touching the stem, is this a worry?

The Soil is Amgrow Pot 'n' Peat Black Label. Was the most high-end soil i could find at my local shop. Seems good so far.

:bongin:

18. It'll be okay, no worries. Gotta warn ya though, if you're impatient already...you're going to be tearing your hair right out of your skull in about month or two when you realize you still have another month to go.
