Yeah there is a drainage bucket. I filled it 1/3 of the way with soil. I think about 7". Can't remember Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum mobile app
7in in a 5 gal bucket is about 2 gals so your good there. .. What are the temps in that thing? How your plant is looking it looks like its getting to hot ...
When the lights are on its around 85. When off it drops around 75 Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I'm dealing with a gnat issue. I just put some mosquito bits on the top layer of the soil. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Yes gnats will be an issue but your plant looks like it dying.... and I don't think it's the gnats. What's soil? Nutes? What type of water? Oh you can build some cheap gnat traps using apple cider vinegar. The gnats love it. Get a small cup and fill it with the vinegar then add a small drop of fish soap and set it in the bucket. The gnats are attracted to it and they go in and drown.
FFOF soil. I've had the plant for almost 2 weeks now. I have GH floraduo, but I haven't used any yet. I've just been watering with ph'd water around 6.2. All I have is the test strips right now. I did the apple cider vinegar trap yesterday. I put the bits on the soil yesterday, and plan to water today after work. I will post a more recent pic also. I'm running the lights at 18/6. Any info/advice would be appreciated Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum mobile app
This Saturday will be 2 weeks since I planted this clone. When should I start adding nutes? 1/4 strength? Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum mobile app
You said in your other post that your runoff ph was low. You could have nutrient lockout. Like I said, I had the same problem with low ph nutrient lockout on my clone a couple weeks ago.
And I'm not sure how low the ph is because my strips only measure 5.0 and up. When I tested it, the strip didn't change color. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I am new to growing too so I'm not sure what caused it but when I started, I used FFOF and ph 6.7 water and somehow the runoff ph got to be dangerously low. I flushed them and haven't had an issue since. This is them now. Got a little mute burn because I added nutrients after the flush thinking I may have flushed them out. They a recovering from that now but overall I feel they are doing well.
Alright. I think I'm going to water pretty generously today. How much water do you use when you flush them? Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Updates: The 1st pic is showing the PH of the runoff PH of the water I used to water with When I watered today I used 1part 3% hydrogen peroxide to 4 parts ph'd water. Total I used 64oz of water. The run off measured 16oz. 20% runoff would be about 13 oz. so I'm not too far off. Maybe just a little less water next time. I also hydrated the mosquito bits that I sprinkled on top of the soil. Temps are in the upper 80's with the lights on. Drops to about 75 when I kill the lights. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum mobile app
The last pic is just showing how my drainage bucket works. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum mobile app
