First grow Small buds day 29

  1. 3325BCD0-B89A-4C8C-936E-4BF758DBC6DD.jpeg hey guys. Starting to worry that my plants are way behind. It’s my first indoor grow and first time defoliating (never touched my outdoor plants). I waited too long to defol in veg and actually didn’t take my first fans off until day 3 flower. Fast forward to day 21 and I took all the fan leaves off. I’ll post some before and after defol pics so you can see. This is day 29 I feel these are way too small.
    Top 3 are Just after 010F36E8-8A65-4617-B075-508E83DD9D22.jpeg E6DFC3FC-0E47-44C6-AEC0-745FE28023E9.jpeg E310FDEB-ECD6-4F20-8874-7A0D0DA04433.jpeg defol day 21

    Next 2 are day 29 today. 3325BCD0-B89A-4C8C-936E-4BF758DBC6DD.jpeg 8971C5F4-0ABB-46FC-9F88-CC5643630CD5.jpeg
Did I screw up big time? My daytime temp only gets to 20. Would that be part of it?

  5. Live and learn I guess. So much back and forth on the net regarding defoliation and also pros of not doing it. Some are getting big results. Some not. I’m thinking I put too much stress on them by not defoliating in veg. Doing it twice in 2 weeks especially first 3 weeks of flower was prob too much. Things to remember for next grow I guess

  6. Yup as @HardDrive said those leaves are solar panels. Last year i kept my outdoor plants pretty trimmed. Now I am just pushing them down out of the way of tops and leaving them intact. The plants seem to grow much more dense. Humidity is an issue on dense plants during flower but if you keep it in check you are good. Remember center plant humidity will be more elevated than ambient room humidity.

  7. Remember nature knows how to thrive best on it's own. You just have to provide an environment to let it work it's magic.

  8. Agreed brother, but in a natural environment the leaves fall when she is done with them.
But in our world, we have to keep em' trimmed down or they will do harm I think.
Humidity is not a problem for me, but my plants do sweat sometimes if I forget to turn the big oscillating fan back on. Actually I'm gonna trim some this evening if I can get motivated and go over there.
I posted the link to my current grow, not trying to hijack, but to show you my canopy and how full it is, and with these new QB boards.
I'll remove the link if you wish.

The 2 defoliations within the first 3 weeks flower and low temps barely hitting 20 in the day and 14.5 to 15.5 at nite plants look healthy but I’ve seen others on here at day 29’way ahead of mine. I’m just hard on myself

  10. I’m not clear as to why you would cut off all the fan leaves.

  11. I had seen demonstrations online that by doing that it forces more energy to bud sites. My canopy was so thick prior to
Cutting that no light was getting through to the bud sites I figured this would give them the light they needed

  12. You say day 29 of flower. Is that when you flipped to 12/12 or when it started flowering?

  13. That’s since I flipped the lights to 12/12

  14. I figured. Your buds are only a little over 2wks old. They be fine. The first couple weeks after flip, the plant is stretching not flowering yet. Looking great.

  15. Is the stretch not included in the flowering cycle calendar. This is where I get very confused

  16. Some count from flip. Some count from when the plant starts flowering. I don't care. I personally just let them go till there done. It doesn't matter if they are week 9 or 11. They aren't done till they're done. But that's me. I do keep a rough idea of when I flip just for reference.
