  1. hey guys i used to be on gc all the time back a couple years ago an stopped because of some of the people coming on

but im back because the grow info is very valuable

started my first grow in rubbermaid box stealth style in my closet

i got the intake, fan exhaust all of that

right now i have a sprout its growing slowly its yellow, green with lil purp spots here n there
obviously its not going to survive to long

i have 3cfls on it now at 1750lumens each i have 3 more sockets avaiable for a total of 6 cfls

but iwant to keep the heat down for now. average temp in the box is 82-83 because of the florida heat

its in miracle grow organic soil i water it with bottled water i will post pics later
also the box is lined with tin foil

but my first guess is i have to chek the ph maybe?

i just dont know what to do
    help me out

edit: i only have a cellphone camera sry for the shit pics, but basically the inner part of the leafs are green the outside is yellowing the very edges r like purp/brown
one leaf has a big purp spot on it
also the lighting cycle is 24/0

  2. i had a rubbermaid growbox grow going like 2 months ago. odd, because i too was useing the miracle grow organic and my plants grew very very slow, and after about 2.5 weeks they looked exactly like yours. all yellowish and the leaves downturned.

ventilation, temperature and lighting was ideal, but that still happened. i just yanked them and gave up trying to do such a small grow.

  3. hola,

congratulations on choosing to grow. GC's threads pretty much obtain all the information that you will need to make that little girl survive. the search feature at the top right of the page will be your best friend. for your first grow you choose miracle grow right? lots of people on these forums say that MG will kill your plants.
you might want to look into finding some good soil that contains a good mix or water retaning composites like perlite or vermiculite so your soil stays nice and moist.

tin foil can cause some burns on your plants if your not careful. you might be best off painting the inside with a nice flat white paint.

your temperature seems to be okay. as for the spots on the plant itself i would guess personally that it is the MG organic mix itself. plants in soil that are still seedlings dont really need any nutes. they should have what they need for about 24 days in their early cycles. your pot seems to be pretty large so you wont have to worry about getting root bound or transporting for a while.

just give the girls proper air circulation and dont over-do it. but i would start by getting some new soil. maybe the damage can be fixed!

    Happy Gardening,
    TeXas :hello:

  4. yeah i know about the search feature thanks
i know about mg but some people have got it to work an some havent
i figured since it was oragnic it wouldnt make a difference

so i should transplant to new soil?

ill give it a try in a couple days thanks

  5. final bump i guess

  6. The same thing is happening to my plants right now.
