First grow problems

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by miken3hityou, Apr 28, 2018.

  1. Hello I am running on a very low budget and I think my problems has to do with pH but i want to get a second opinion before I go out and get pH up and down and pH strips. They are about 20 days old. They are on an 18 hour a day light cycle. My light is still shipping so im currently running it under a 150 W lamp. 3 Gallon pot. No additional fertilizer has been added.

  2. just as well

its nute burnt as it is

gently extract and mix in 25% perlite or clean river sand

it dilutes the soil hence diluting the nutes

avoid using ph as a crutch just study some more ...imo

    good luck

  3. First of all what did additional food did you supply at the start? Id hit it water pure as you can find. Saturate the medium till water runs out bottom if you can and hope the plant can pass the burn. Its looking burned but i can see your nodes coming in as we speak. 2nd of all a 3 gallon pot is HUGE for a plant that little and plant that little requires very light feeding. Id actually reccomemend feeding at the third or 4th node as seedlings but you might have cooked this one...... Give it some pure water for 2 weeks especially if the soil has added amendments. It should pull through aslong as you dont cook it. 3rd of all? Whats your temperate at ? Could be a heat issue? 17-22 celcius is fine.

  4. It very well could be your ph. I would suggest buying a ph test kit. The one I use is by general hydroponics and it runs you around $7.00 at Walmart. You don’t need to buy the ph up or down until you test your water. I use water from my kitchen sick and it has a ph of 8, therefore I only use ph down, so it’s not necessary to have both ph up and ph down which will save you a bit.

Another thing it could be is if your light is too close to the plant. Put your hand above your plant and see if it you can feel heat from the light. If so move it up until you can’t feel any heat hitting the plant.

  5. It's not the light, if it was to close it would be canoeing/leaves curl upwards in an attempt to trap water to cool down.
I second the opinion of getting the ph test kit and feeding with pure water until its figured out.

But in my humble opinion it looks more like nutrient lock out
Test your water and the runoff water.
