I put the sprouts in Rockwool on 7/14/13 on the 7/16/13 they pop up out of the rockwool.
I was watering every 3-4 days. I was inconsistent with lights sometimes 24 hours of lights sometimes 18/6.
On the 7/19/13 i saw some roots on the bottom of rockwool.
On the 7/29/13 i repotted to where at now.
I mix 1/4 tsp of Superthrive in a gallon of distilled water.
I Put the soil in a plastic bin and mix the following.
\t 100_3279.JPG
\t
\tThe soil
1-8 qt bag of Miracle-gro Organic Choice
1-16 qt bag of New Era Soilit potting mix
1-8 qt bag of MG Sphagnum Peat Moss
1-8 qt bag of MG Perlite
1-8 qt bag Sta-Green Horticultural Vermiculite
33 Grams of MG Organic Blood Meal
65 Grams of Espoma Organic Bone Meal
65 Grams of Espoma Organic Garden Lime
On 8/4/13 i mix Jungle Juice Micro,Grow and Bloom 1/4 tsp of all 3 in 2 gallons of tapwater i had sitting out for 48 hours.
The soil ph is high 7+ so i made the water 5-6 closer to 5. Ph still high.
I Bought Espoma Organic Soil Acidifier to lower the soil ph. I still haven't use it.I don't know how to use it. I don't want to make it worse.
How often should i water?
I APPRECIATE YOUR TIME AND KNOWLEDGE. THANK YOU

hard to tell from pics, but looks like your burning them. dont give them any NPK nutrients for first 2-3 weeks of their lives. theyre super sensative and theres more than enough nutes in the soil for them. stop your micro veg and bloom for 2 weeks

Also I believe miracle grow has nutrients pre-added. So almost certainly burn imo let em chillax they're just babies.Sit burn one and watch the grass grow my friend. Welcome to the odd inbetween of parenthood and farmer :smoke:Let me also mention the bone and blood meal are a pretty decent nutrient source you should water when the dirt is dry for about the top inchCan tell by that or pot weight.Depending on how much water you give them at a time and humidity will determine when to water. Its not all that scientific honestly its just getting to know the needs of your babies and having experiancePick up a grow bible mate those things are Invaluable.

Thanks for your time and advise wwpk and GRAFIKI. Do you think i should repot? What do you think the discoloration could be? Any recommendations on a grow bible?

5. dont repot any time soon, it will just stress them more. The discoloration is the nutrient burning- even after you stop feeding water nutes the burn will increase for a few more days. those leaves will never recover- wait until enough new nodes and leaves have sprouted and then pick the discolored leaves off (again this will not be for ~10+ days). I would only repot once in their life cycle, wait until theyre much bigger.

on grow bibles: there are tons out there; I've found a lot of the info in them to be junk about gorilla growing and oldschool cloning but not a lot of high tech stuff. Grow bibles are good for memorizing the basics- what diseases to watch for; basic nutrient information, basic lighting information, and differences between strains. Truthfully if you spend a solid ten-twenty hours on this site reading about ppm, npk, hps vs. mh vs led vs cfl and other basic guides you can pick up a lot of the same info the grow books contain. Check out amazon for grow bibles if you want one- the one good thing they have that is hard to find on the site is detailed pictures of types of pests. goodluck!

Thanks wwpk every little bit of information, knowledge and advice is Appreciated!! Last night i put 3 out of 4 G13 labs BLUE OG fem a buddy gave me and 1 out of 3 bag seed i had in to rockwool cubes. I put them in pt on 7/30/13 in two separate containers and in different cabinets. i didn't want the bag seed to take away energy from the Blue OG. Lol I kept checking on them and nothing so i left them alone then 9 days later Voila! And there you have it!
100_3283.JPG 100_3284.JPG
I don't know why it took 9 days to germinate!! I put them in pt then in a ziploc then in a tupperware that i put in a black bag then in to the a cabinet. I KNOW TOTAL NEWBIE

7. Seedlings don't need any nutes for the first 2-3 weeks. Also your mixing organic nutrients like blood meal and bone meal with chemical based nutrients. Organic nutrients are dependent on benefical microbes in the soil to break down the organic nutrients so the plant can easily absorb them which requires a good organic soil but once you start adding chemical based nutrients that will start to kill off any beneficial microbes in the soil. You also need to get a consistent lighting schedule down if not your running a greater chance of your plants going hermie on you. Not sure but I would consider transplanting into some better soil with less stuff in it for now. Lowes and Home Depot carry Kellogs Patio Plus soil its organic but you can continue to sue your Jungle Juice nutes with it along with some perlite added. I use it for clones. How long ago did you add the blood and bone meal? Mixing organic nutrients and additives with chemical based nutes is a waste of money.

8. The seeds wiht he really long tap roots should have been planted sooner. The tap roots are very delicate and when they get that long it makes them even more delicate when planting. They can break off really easy when that long and that would be death for the seedling.

9. Do you have any seedling start soil that isn't miracle grow?

Thanks for your time and advise tplat. On 7/29/13 i mix everything on my soil list at the top of the thread and then I repotted to where at now. No i don't have seedling start soil. Any recommendations? The only stupid question is the one unasked. When does the 2-3 week start? Does it star when you notice the seeds germinated? Does it start the day you put them in the rockwool? Does it start When the first two round leaves come out of the rockwool? Or does the 2-3 weeks start when you put the rockwool in the soil?

11. I didn't completely read all the posts but every single product you have there has nutrients added, even the perlite and peat moss. IDK if your ever going to get these girls to recover, esp in this soil.

Now the soil looks dry on the top.The bigger one is doing a little better "i think" the leaves are a little darker . And for the rest of the babies will see what happens. I'm thinking of repotting i bought a bag of Miracle Grow peat moss and perlite. What do you think about using the soil there in and mixing it with the peat moss and perlite?I"ll post new pic.

13. I usualy start from the day their little single bladed leaves come out for the 2-3 week wait on nutes or good organic soil. For seedling starter soil you don't need anything fancy the cheap stuff from like Walmart, Lowes or Home Depot will work I think Jiffy is a common brand at those stores. I use Light Warrio soil that is made for seedlings its a little more pricey but I have easy access to it. In CA theres grow shops about every 5 miles or so.

Thanks tplat. I repotted the babies i only took pics of #1. I used the same soil and mix in some moss and perlite. I carefully went all around the edges of the container and freed the baby. I flipped the container upside down and the soil looked like a sand casle. I'm surprised the babies are still alive. The rockwool was really, realy dry. But the soil was like wet sand. After the mix it was so light and moist and alot dryer. I did not wet the soil.

The 3 G13 Labs BLUE OG fem and 1 bag seed that i put in rockwool on 8/7/13. I didn't check for 2 days the rockwool. I just checked them. Did i mess up all ready? Should i put them with the rest of the babies? I don't want to mess this ladies. Well no body wants to mess us thing.

While i was putting up the last post my seedlings slumped over. the stem in real thin.
100_3338.JPG 100_3342.JPG
WHAT CAN I DO?

16. Did you have a light on them? Their stretching for light. Very carefully plant them in soil and bury the stem down in the soil with in an inch or so of the two round starter leaves. Again be very carefull when they stretch that much it makes it more difficult to plant them. When they stretch like that its because either the light was to far away or they didn't have any. When starting seedlings I always have atleast 1 26 watt daylight cfl above them so they get some light and don't stretch to much. You don't want the light to close but not to far where they stretch like that.

17. Thank you tplat. I had the rockwool in complete darkness. I was told not to expose them to light. Some people said to put the rockwool under lights after putting in the sprout.I had them in the dark when they sprouted. I opened the rockwool and i added a little more rockwool to bury a bit of the leggy babies. Will it make the stem get wet and rot? What's your opinion? The other babies i repotted don't look good. They look like there drying out. I did spray the bottom of the rockwool with some water that has super thrive before repotting. I do have the Jungle Juice Micro, Grow and Bloom. Do you think i can feed them that? Or aleast the bigger one? Can i put the new seedlings with the rest at 18/6? What do you think about that? In your opinion what's the best temperature and humidity level with lights on and lights off? What does the brown/purple stem mean? In your opinion when should i start to feed them. Do you think i should put them in soil right now? Thank you

18. Those are ready to be planted in soil remember to remove the silver lining for each rockwool cube. Also no nute for the first 2-3 weeks, all the food they need will be contained in the 2 small round leaves and single bladed leaves, they will feed off of those leaves until they die off then its time for nutes. You can have a light on rockwook cubes while their still waiting to break the surface it just drys them out a little quicker depending on hot the area is and bulb required wetting them more often.

19. Thanks tlpat. What about watering them? I'll post pics of the rest of the babies. I think some are dead. I haven't been feeding them i don't want to kill them " burn then with nutes". Even though i know some are dying. I'm getting a TDS pen and a Digital pH Meter Tester. I don't know what to do!!
