Hey fellas, currently I'm using 2 30w CFLs and 1 LED to change up the spectrum. I'm also using miracle grow soil, water from sink( the pH seems to be fine, between 5.8-6.5 usually. I still have to pick up nutes, what would you guys recommend? I'll be watering her about a gallon over a course of 4-5 days, is that too much?
seems like a whole lot to me. i water 3 plants about 3/4 's a gallon a week. and i got the foxfarm 3 pack of nuts off of amazon for a pretty good price and they'll last you forever. And it seems like you might not have enuff light. r u only growing 1 or 2? and might want to watch out for adding nuts with all the stuff miracle grow soil already has it in it.
I only have one plant growing right now. I'm going to grab some fox farm ocean forest within the next couple days then transplant after 2 weeks, when should i added nutes, week 3?
I'd say water those a lot less. Wait until the top inch of soil is dry and then water. That way the plant will have a very established, deep root system. They will dig deeper in search of water.
Good Morning Grasscity! Day 12 Currently it is day 12, I said I was going to keep this updated so here it goes. Sorry about my rambling but after this I won't update for another 2-3 days. I am starting too see a lot of new growth, the leaves are starting to fan out and mature, the stem is very sturdy and strong with a fan blowing on the plant for 18 hours a day. I plan on topping as soon as the fourth node gets a little bit bigger, I will begin LST'ing within the next 2-5 days depending on growth. It is using 2 30w CFLs 2700k and 2 30w CFLs 6500k. Going to the store today to grab 1-2 more lights and some Super Bloom. The plants are looking healthy and my eyes are glued to the growth literally. I never knew growing could be this addicting. Here is some recent photos from this morning. Enjoy!
Hey man! I have no idea what strain it is I got it from my buddy. I'm curious too see which it is going to be! Get subbed!
Good start. You should leave water in an open jug/can whatever your using for at least 12 hours before watering, gets rid of some chemicals and concentrates the water more. cheers and goodluck if you have any questions feel free to ask on here i will sub and try my best to answer.
If you dont already have a fan you should get one or else the plant will have weak stems, just make sure its oscilating if not oscilating then only have the fan on for certain hours, your trying to mimic the wind.
Looking good! How big of a space are you going to have for flowering? and what lights do you plan on using?
I have a fan blowing on it for 18/6 cycle and turn it off at night. It's not oscillating but Constantly blowing on the plant. The stem seems real sturdy and is erect. I plan on flowering in a 2'x2'x3 space. I'm topping the plant tomorrow at two weeks where the fourth node is coming in. I will update pics tomorrow. I think I'm just going to add two more CFLs for a total of 6 and maybe a red LED I have. Thanks for everyone's input and offering to help. I also have a new setup in the box. Come view tomorrow!
Hey Grass City! Today marks the two week mark since I planted. The plant is looking great, it is getting bushier and the stem is strengthening. I do have a fan blowing on her for 18 hours a day but it is not oscilating, it also not that strong of a fan just a cheap one I bought at walmart. I have also changed the setup, I have moved the lights all hitting her from the top at different angles, this should help for when I start to LST. When should I top her? I was going to do it today but I wanted everyones opinion. Here are some pics! Enjoy and stay tokin!
That setup looks legit. The fan doesnt need to osculate unless their are more plants or the plant is larger. You said that you were going to top the plant? And you also plan on LST? In my experience, if you plan on doing both, top the plant first, and then once the new branches begin to get too tall, you can bend them down... but that wont be for about a week or two after you top the plant. You dont want to stress it too much, topping it will set you back enough as it is. Also, seeing that you have 3' of height, you could probably get away with topping the plant, letting it get about 8 inches tall, and then switch to 12/12. There are somethings that havent been answered: 1. What strain is that plant? 2. What nutrients are using? 3. What soil are you using? 4. Any chance at getting a 150w hps for flowering? 5. What are your temps? You should wait at least one more leaf set to top. Sorry for the lengthy post but your first posts lack information. Information is key!
