Hey guys, This is my first time growing, I cleared out a space in my room that is like a crawl space. Very warm in there, plants are growing! Could I get some suggestions though cause my two new plants arent growing that fast, I just moved them up to closer light today though. One of those grow lights have fallen down and actually took apart my friends brothers plants leaves. Any suggestions?
Need some fans in there, they like the air circulation. Plus it makes their stem stronger so it can bear more fruit.
I am also putting in 2 new sprouted plants in this setup in a few days, I will update pics. Suggestions?
I will put in a fan, I am also going to change those tub lights around since they arent set up that well, and considering it took out of of one of my brothers plants.. Should the fan be blowing on them or be pointed in a certain direction?
Hrmm, looks a fun one here.. Your plants could be tall and skinny due to "stretching" they are not close enough to the lite source. You want to make sure your Humidity is up to atleast 50-65%. Since they are skinny this will be hard to achive so try putting some PH corrected water into the area and the water will "evap" increasing your humidity. What is your temp and humidity levels now? If you do not have a temp/hygro meters then pick one up. $10 at most grow shops. You wanna make sure your heat levels are around 70-79 degrees and make sure to get that air moving around. Your lights... What exactly do you have? I see a few things and dont know watts and kind of bulb. With CFL you want the light as close as possible with out hurting the plant. IMPORTANT, What soil is that? Have you fertd those? You need to give us way more information but, your setup needs some love. Yellow not a good thing, can you take closer pic of fan leaves? I keep seeing Nitro problems. Whats your low temp, and high?
The two long big tube lights are 75 watt lights. The big one I think is a 16 watt and i dont know about the other. Its a really new thing to me and my friend. I am planning on moving those two tube lights over the two tall plants. That small plant does not have yellow leaves just positioning of the camera, I will take more pics later and show you them. I do not know the temp or humidity, its very warm in there and I will buy a temp/humid gage. The soil is not fertdlized is that bad? how do i do that and how should i do that? what is nitro problems? I will be getting a fan in there very shortly. Any certain way to position lights? And I will be putting 2 more lights in there also, please keep helping me out, much appreciated! Also, the soil is organic miracle grow.
not saying you guys don<t know nothing about growing, but this is the kind of thread that should be in absolute begginers. people will help you pretty fast there.
yea the fan should be blowing on them but not on high something like low just so it doesnt blow them to much and like the other ppl said u gota have the cfl's closer to theplant say 4-5 incehes away if u do that make sure within the day that its not to close if its to close you will start to see the faning leaves or so burn or turn yellow but yes u need more lights on the two big ones
raise the short plants up so the tops of them are at the same height as the tall plants ..just put them on a box or something. Interesting!! I've always been told not to point the fans at the plants. You use the fans to remove the hot air by the lights, cool air is drawn in to replace it. ..anyone else?
i put mine directly on the plant to make the stems much stronger...and the light move it closer thats why your plants are stretching...also may want to check your ph looks like a N defeciency
It does make it stronger like all are saying, I find the best way is to have the vent system and then have the rotating fan ON TOP OF CANOPY. I like this for many reasons, the draft is good and always moves co2 around evenly. The hot air from the reflector is removed and its keeps a warm humid climate. If your vent system is to low or high it will imbalance the heat, humidity. Also keep in mind a stronger stem supports the fruits alot better, no drooping colas You dont want premixed ferts in seedling soil, using a nute enriched soil for plants past seedling stage is fine. Make sure you get some good soil, some people like MG "Miracle Grow" and I hate the stuff and will never ever use it. Use some good organic soil, Fox Farms makes alot of great quality soil. Same with Black Gold soil, great stuff. The Nitro is the yellow coloration you see on your fan leafs, to most of us it appears to be lacking N. I would use caution, your plant is young and dont think you should be adding fertz yet. Please post that pic in the sick plants section on here and ask some guys what to do. I know how to correct a N problem but, your plant is so young that fertz can hurt your plant too. So post it and see what the vet's say. GL
