Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by ChiefBurnItDown, Sep 7, 2012.

  1. Strain: Northern Lights Autoflower Feminized
    Seed Depot: Nirvanashop
Lights: 250W MH Veg, 250W HPS Flower
    Soil: Sunshine Adv. Mix #4
    Space: 3x2x6
Nutes: Ultra Green (26-8-16[Veg]), Super Bloom (12-55-6[Flower])

Let me first say that there are few things in my life I can say I've been this excited about. Sooo pumped for this. I really hope it works out! Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated.
Also tremendous work by Nirvana getting my shipment here discretely and within the time frame provided.

Here is how I am attempting to germ the seeds...
Also Here is my grow room setup

  3. Day 3
Decided to do three plants instead of two since I had the room. Placed all three seeds (which were each cracked) in the dirt this morning. Not much to look at yet but here's a pic anyway...

  4. Day 4
Bebe broke the surface today! (I named my 3 plants after South Park characters, the other tow are Wendy and Mrs. Crabtree). I planted them directly into my final growing container which is 2 gallons. I've been maintaining a nice, damp soil surface by using a spray bottle to moisten the grow medium. My thermometer reads between 84 and 75 degrees fahrenheit on a given day. If there's any helpful hints for accelerating early growth anyone wants to divulge I'd very much like to know them.

    Here's baby Bebe...

  5. Day 5
Mrs. Crabtree has surfaced! Unfortunatly no leaves on Wendy yet (I know she's germinated because I got impatient and brushed a little of the dirt away and saw that she sent a taproot down). Bebe is doing great... she's about an inch tall now.

  6. Day 6
Well, all 3 are above the soil thanks to Wendy's appearance! Noticable growth in Mrs. Crabtree and Bebe as well.

  7. Day 7
Noticable growth in all three. Wendy shed her seed shell and is looking healthy, but Mrs. Crabtree's cotyledons are still pinched close together. She is still showing signs of vertical growth and true leaf starts but it seems shes lagging behind the others. Hopefully Mrs. Crabtree will get it together and catch up to her sisters!

  8. I'm pulling for Mrs. Crabtree. The older I've got, the more I have realized that the fast girls isn't what you want anyways; the slower and steady ones will provide greater happiness. :smoke:

    Day 8
Everythings going swell, noticable growth in all three ladies. Mrs. Crabtree is still coming along sluggishly but she's opening up a little more. The soil is still damp from watering two days ago so I didn't water or add fertilizer.

  10. I'll be following this grow closely. I'm looking to start a grow of my own of the same strain. Just curious, are you looking to keep these plants short? If you are, what do you think will be the best way to keep them short and still get the best yield? Thank you for anyone who can answer my questions. Serious noob here.

  11. Well I have 5 feet of vertical space so I'm not really restricted in that manner. I'm thinking I'll just let the plants get as tall as they may. What I might do is LST (low stress train) one of them under the same conditions as the others as an experiment to see if it produces a higher yield. LST in conjunction with keeping the lighting system close to the tops of the plants should keep them short... I think. I appreciate the visit to my thread!! :metal:

  12. Dude, push those babies to the roof!! I'm sorry to hear about Mrs. Crabtree. Maybe this will lift your spirits.

  15. Day 9
I added just a little fertilizer/water today... about 1/4 what was suggested. Figured I'd be gentle while they're young:ey:. Mrs. Crabtree's cotyledons are yellowing and one fell off. But the true leaves are getting bigger and are a deep shade of green.

  16. Good luck with the grow. I am about to start my first grow with the exact same seeds so I will be following closely.

  17. Subbed! Always wanted to see an auto grow. I've been thinking about doing an auto next grow from Nirvana, I've heard great thing from them. Good luck on ur grow man!

  18. Day 10
I think Mrs. Crabtree is gonna make it. It's tough to see in the picture but she's started a second pair of true leaves so thats good news. Bebe is really starting to take off and Wendy isn't too far behind!
