I have 2 plants(mids bagseed) growing inside a pc box with 3 x 23w Daylight CFLs, I would have 4 but the power strip doesnt have enough room to fit all 4 bulbs. What i'm mainly concerned with is how skinny the stems are on both of my plants. They're on a 24 hour a day lighting schedule and about 6 days old. Ill try to snap a pic on the 2nd one alittle later, they look exactly the same. Also the bottom on the 2nd plant is turning purple on the leaves, from what i've read I think its a phosphorus deficiency. Just watered it with bottled water and a pinch of Petes Professional all purpose 20-20-20 fert. Thanks in advance
Don't know about those nutes, but from your pic, it looks like you have some pretty good stretching going on... How far are your light from your plants? You should try to keep cfls within a couple of inches of your plant...generally as close as you can without worrying about them touching...
I started out with a 44w CFL bright white for like 2 days before I ran to the store and replaced it with 3 x 23w Daylight CFLs they've been under the 23w for 2 days. The lights are exactly 2inches away from the top of the leaves. Do you think 3 bulbs is enough or should I get a different power strip that can fit all 4 bulbs. Also is it safe to give it more nutes at such a young stage like this?
Okay...before I say anything...I have to admit I'm a light junkie... My best cfl grow involved 2 plants an over 330W of cfls, so I may not be the best to advise on light for a mico grow... This thread...http://forum.grasscity.com/absolute-beginners/122824-kamels-cfl-guide.html...has a lot of useful information on growing with cfls...try give it a read and see if that helps... I'd go really easy on nutes this early...you said you fed them once already? I'd lay off for a bit...
I fed them for the first time right before I posted with only a pinch of 20-20-20 mix fert. Only reason I decided to do this is because the plants are starting to wilt alittle and the underside of them is turning purple. From what i've read I think its a phosphorus deficiency. anyone have any ideas?
I agree with lovetogrow....75 to 85 is optimal....although, id even say 85 is a little high.....mine is running at around 79.5 w/49% humidity.
