Ok, so I'm making a bathroom into a grow room, 25 ft sq...have an air extractor which takes out a decent ammount of air (50 cfm), and also have an oscillating fan... had to put a cardboard over my window because of light coming from outside and dont want anyone looking in... problem is my room temperature reaches like 93 F...I live in a tropical climate, so that is normal outside, but I thought with an extractor and a fan I could do it...gues not, any ideas on lowering the temperature without investing in more equipment? if not, what equipment should i invest in? Is it fine to have the door open while I'm at home? will that help? one idea i had was to fill my bathtub with cold water several times a day, when i go check on my plants...not sure if that will lower it... also read somewhere taht putting a bottle of frozen water in front of a fan several times a day... please let me know any ideas and comments on my own...
depending on what lighting you are using and I'm guessing HID since you're devoting a room.... Those half ass solutions are not going to cut it I believe filling a bathtub with water would probably just increase humidity. What lighting you using? You will need to buy ventilation to run from your lights extracting into the attic or outside or whatever.........remember bathroom fans in apartments usually connect to other apartments (fantastic huh?) You're probably in a house so you're going to want and I repeat don't skimp out on ventilation it's really fucking important get a nice loud& lotsta power blower or even better a powerful and quieter inline fan (more expensive) Then of course you're going to need intakes cutting into the door and putting stove filters so light does not travel both ways. You're going to want to weather strip to seal any light leaks Just trying help.......sure having door open is obviously going to displace some of that heat but it's not going to help much if large HIDS are running in an actual room and not actually in a cab enclosed in the room...
if your going to do it in your bathroom, just fill the bathtub with some water that will decrease the humidity in the room.
