Hey guys, i've got about 50 bagseeds already germinated and planted in soil inside plastic cups underneath a shoplight with 2 40w bulbs, one soft white, and the other daylight. My question to you guys is, I only have 150 dollars to spend for this harvest, so i need to know what would be the most efficient way to spend my money. My main concern is that if I only decide to say grow 6, half of those may be males. But since you cant see what the sex of the plant is for what 6 weeks or so, would it be a bad idea to say, have a 600w hps or Cfl equivalent in terms of wattage for say 9-12 plants until i can see the sex of the plants, to end up with more females, and take the males out and then give them the proper watt to plant ratio?
I guess I just wanted to know if cfls are comparable to hps (if lumens are matched) in terms of overall outcome regarding speed, amount of bud, etc.
if your on that low of a budget i would go with cfl's because if you try and get a hps you would be spending all your money on it pretty much
Hmm, cfls it is then haha. Maybe I wont screw this crop up and get enough money to buy an hps for next harvest haha.
