First Grow Log... Red Hair Skunk and Unknown

  1. Take a look at this grow and tell me what you think... I could use some input to say the least. The plants are in a small closet space, currently under 400w of daylight balanced fluorescents. The seeds were 10 Red Hair Skunk originally and 10 free seeds from the seed bank I used. Fourteen of the plants are alive and kicking. 5 didn't germinate and one rotted. Also one is a bit of a double plant... I'm just letting it do its thing for now. The seeds got knocked onto the floor by a careless friend (grr) and so I won't bother labeling them by strain until they are mature enough for me to descern the strain.

The temperature in the room ranges from 68 degrees to 77 degrees. Currently our humidity situation is less than optimal (sometimes as low as 36) so we are misting frequently. Our medium is a mix of 2 parts vermiculite, 1 part perlite, and 1 part worm castings.

I've noticed slowed growth and reddish stems, so I fear a nutrient problem. It is day 9 and on day seven I watered half with 1/4 strength all around plant food and half with 1/4 strength bat guano. My purposed solution to this is to transplant them into an all around organic potting soil and buy a new fertilizer, one with a full range of micronutrients and a high nitrogen content. Does anyone have any suggestions for this? How much should I be fertilizing at this point?

Anyway, here are a few of the plants:

  2. Alright, so it's day 10 now and I'm tired of those red stems, so I bought some Fox Farms Grow Big and soaked them with some heavily diluted fertilizer water. I'm thinking about giving them a foliar feeding, but not until I see how they react to this.

  3. i think your going to do more damage than good chuckin all them nutes at them at 6 or 7 days old ,most people advise not to use any nutes at all for about 4 weeks

  4. You're probably right, but currently they are having a definite nutrient problem. I'm afraid that they're too delicate to repot at this stage. I bought some Fox Farms potting soil, and repotted the bag seeds into it, but I'm going to see how they recover before I go crazy with repotting all of them.

Does anyone with a lot of experience have any input on this nutrient issue? Should I flush them, or repot them, or will the fertilizer be ok?
