We are just a few guys who loving smoking marijuana. We support and advocate the plant. Now we want to grow our own! We don't have a high tech system but a 10 inch intake fan and 6 inch pursue attatched to an exauhst fan. With a 60 watt light bulb Please give input and anything valuable to our venture of growing marijuana.
if thats a 60w incandescent bulb i wouldnt expect anything but a stretched out seedling that will probably tip over and die. cfls put out more light per watt and can grow a decent plant and with lots and lots of cfls you could get a decent yield. it takes quite a bit to invest in a decent grow room/box unless you go with a micro grow and get small yields. one of the most important things for a successful grow in lighting.. and lots of it. you need fresh air good soil, some ferts, big enough pots for how big you want your plants. youll need a good environment about 75F and about 40-50% humidity. so many things can reduce the quality and quantity of your grow...you could be wasting your time if you dont invest in some decent equipment.
So what equipment would you insist on investing in? We are in the process of developing a grow room we have a 10 x 10 room with a slanted ceiling but want to use a grow box.
tents are nice and easy, a hps depending on how big you want your plants, and how many.. an ac unit is always helpful especially with hps lighting. a dehumidifier if you humidity is high. theres tons of things you could use.. usually you get what you pay for.. if you spend 20$ on a grow setup you wont end up with much, if anything. ive invested about 3k$ ... 2 150w hps, 2 125w cfls, 1 600w ballast, cool tube, digilux hps bulb, grow tent, tons of buckets and soil, tons of ferts, ducting, fans, timers, water pumps, air pumps, dehumidifier, timers... a new breaker box and breakers for the electrical(still in the works of setting it up), extension chords, more fans... soo much crap lol. but i get out what i put into it easily.
of course though thats just an idea of what people use... for your first grow id suggest using cfls like the 125w big ones or 200w. they stay pretty cool dont need too much ventilation to keep the temps low..depending on how warm ur attic is. they can produce a decent plant and get some experience under your belt before dumping tons of cash into something that may not turn out so well at first.
We have been investing some of our resources to it. Airflow is good with fans and exaust doubled. Temperature is a little below 80F
