Well i never would have thought it would come to this but here I am growing weed to put myself through college. After educating myself on the subject I joined up with some friends and we are growing some white widow. I have never attempted growing so please point out any flaws in my plans. As of this moment my friend is starting my mother until i can get the supply I need to start my growing. My plan goes like so, I would have two grow tents each 4x4 holding 8 plants each. I would like to grow in a continuous cycle, assuming that it will take approximately 8 weeks to flower from a clone, I can put in two plants per week at the end of two months i would have 16 plants all in different stages of development allowing me to harvest 2 plants every week. I can't decide what I should do for lights I have three possibilities. 2x UFOs or 1x UFO and 1X 400W HPS or 1x 400w HPS and 1x 400w MH I do live in a cold climate so HID bulbs could be a good option I figured that i would use 3 gallon pots with a miracle grow mixture Any and all input would be appreciated. I'd say, go for a 400w MH and a 600w HPS, and definitely go FFOF/ 20 - 35% perlite for soil. And doing weekly harvests prolly won't be fun after awhile, you should try monthly(If space permits).
i agree with guyverman with the 400 watt mh and the 600 watt hps for lights. You said u have two tents so veg the 16 plants and when u put them into flower start the process again so every 8-10 weeks depending on strain u will have a very nice harvest. Dont forget that those lights put out alot of heat you will need some inline fans for ventilation. i recomend all of foxfarms products soil/nutes. Good luck bro. I hope this helps.
sorry i didnt mean to do 16 plants at one time i would start veg with 9 at the most. also start of with bagseed so u can get it down.
What yield were you shootin for? Depending on strain, veg time, and if you got a natural green thumb, 1 - 2oz per plant. Like I said before, you really only want to be harvesting every month because even trimming 2 plants can take up an hour(depending on your dexterity and how sloppy you are), and then if you don't want to waste the sugar leaves you have to take the time to make hash once a week. I myself prefer a 2 month schedule: 2 veg, 2 flower, and 2 curing.
Thanks guys I will go with the 400w MH and a 600w HPS should help keep my temp up. As far a yield I was expecting 1-2oz from white widow, veging for 4 weeks and flowering for 4 weeks. After I get a few plants under my belt I was thinking of adding co2 enrichment and some other thing to increase my yield. I could see how harvesting once a week could get trying so ill conceder once every 2 weeks As for hash im split between making BHO or bubble hash
Your flowering is gonna take longer than 4 weeks. 8-9 weeks is flowering time for white widow. I just put my BC white wdow in soil. Im gonna veg for 45-60 days and flower 56-63 day2. As for the hash thats just a added bonus. keep smokin
