So officially started on 1/31/18. Got a 5 pack of durban from Growers Choice Seeds delivered in about 5 days. Only going to grow one plant for my first run.

Dropped my first seed into RO water to soak 12/31/18, then it finally sank the morning of 1/1/19.

So tonight I will be placing into a paper towel and hope it pops.

More to come on the progress.

    Here is my setup:

    Grow space - 4x4x70 tent

    Veg lights - qb288 x2 @ 125w per board, qb96 v1 x3 @ 40w per strip

Flower lights - qb304 x 4 (forgot wattage, will need to measure again)

Exhaust fan - 410cfm in line fan

Intake fan - 240cfm duct fan

Air circulation - 2x 6" clip on hurricane fans

Heat - Vornado space heater under inkbird thermostat controller

Cool air - cold ass basement (room tent is in is in the low 50's, it's a challenge to keep them pool s up)

Relative Humidty - DIY 5 gal humidifier/fogger to increase humidty, exhaust fan to decrease humidty, also using inkbird humidty controller to maintain target humidty.

  2. Nice set up! I'm on my first grow too and just switched them to flower. It goes by quick.

QBs are the only way to go with LEDs from what I've read in the forums.

I'm also growing in a basement. I have a Honeywell space heater that gets it up to around 68 with the help from electric heat but it was a struggle for me too.

  3. I just put her in the wet paper towel and is in my tent, under a humidty dome, with the heater running.

  4. I was considering doing that as well. I was just following the directions from Growers Choice.

  6. Aaaannnddddd she popped. Giving her one more day then putting into a rapid rooter to move to seedling. I'm happy!

  7. Do it now. Waiting only increases your chances of breaking the tap root.

  8. I was wondering that. I'll see if I can get some time yet tonight to do it.

  9. Ok she's transplanted. Went good. Used tweasers that was steralized with alcohol. Taproot went straight down and looked to fit well in the little opening I made in the rooter plug.

It's under just 2 of the qb96 lights at 80w. Is that too much? I can run all 3 at 120w, 2 at 80w, or 1 at 40w. I can also adjust the driver down lower then the 40w. Light is at top of tent and tray is sitting on two 5 gal buckets. Should I put on floor? Should I move light down closer?

I figure I've got time yet to figure lights out at least until the lil girl shows herself. 20190103_200219.jpg 20190103_200234.jpg 20190103_213546.jpg

  10. I'd lower the light power down to the 40w then lower the light to about a foot and a half to two feet. You might be a little low on light right now. If you double the distance of your light you decrease the intensity to a quarter. So with the light at 2 feet it will be 4 times the light at 4 feet.

  11. What do you mean I might be low on light? I can do 2 strips at 80w...

  12. I could also turn on my 2 qb288's if that would help. I'm thinking I've got plenty of light for seedling through veg.

  13. Nah, just the distance from the plants. If your 80w is 4 feet above your plants its the same as 20w 2 feet above your plants. You look to have plenty of total power, just need it a little closer.

  14. Gotcha. So how many watts would be good at what distance?

  15. I'd do the 40w at about 2 feet for now.

  16. Ok that is what I'll do, thank you for the advice.

So as of this morning she has popped through. I moved my light down about 2 foot above her and turned on one qb96 at 40w.

Is it ok to have light on it already if it isn't showing any leaves? I believe what I'm seeing is the top of the seed. 20190105_104904.jpg

  18. Since she germinated and poked through, she should start to receive light. Darkness is only needed during the germination process.

  19. Ok thank you for the quick response. How about light cycle? 24/7 right now? Does she need any lights out time?
