Alright well im germinating 5 seeds and i have a few questions on planting them. Should i plant at least 2-3 seeds so if one turns out to be a male my chances are higher of having a female or should i just try to plant all 5 and see what happens? Im having big trouble figuring out whether if its a male or female please help.Thanks
In my opinion, feel free to correct me, but I think it all depends on your budget. If you can afford to grow those 5 plants until you can determine the sex, then why not? Build around your budget, also clone early so just incase there are only a couple females, once you find out the sex, you will have clones already vegging.
Cloning shouldnt be your main priority right now, have you planted all 5 seeds or what are you going to do?
If you have the room, definitely keep all of the sprouted seedlings. You can actually send you plants into flower to determine sex and then reveg if they're not big enough for you. You've got a month or so before you need to worry about propagation or even flowering. Just treat them all like young ladies and you'll be grooving on the green before too long. Good luck.
I'm Planning on just planting 3 seeds and see what happens. Hoyfully at least one is a female plant i hope!
If they are bought seed then i would suggest 2.If both are male then I apologize.But if you bought the seeds then you may not want to toss them all in the ground right away.Unless you dont plan on cloning.But i see you plan to clone also so i deduce you have costly beans.Cloning---> go to walmart and get some rooting gel, or a local nursery may have a better hormone.Look for a budding branch(some ppl say get a small branch cause it wont require as much to root...ie:water,nutes, light).Go to the end of the branch and come down 2 internodes.I snip just below the 2nd from top internode then i clip the internode stems giving the main stem 3 wounds.Dip in gel (the trick is not to get any air into the stem..there is a tiny hole which the plant feeds from ,air in that hole will not be good.)Gently place in the medium be it rockwool,perlite, dirt, or whatever you have found to grow in and mist heavily(dont drown it ).Cloning trays, i use a cooking pan with a high clear plast cake lid with a few holes in it to breath.Keep the clone humid and the tray with lights(preferably cfl's) just a few inches above.Cross your fingers and watch for growth.Thats what i do anyway........
if you are using bagseed, plant all 5 if you have the space. if you bought them, plant two or three like Star said.
