First grow for a newbie!

  1. I am a new cardholder, and attempting my first grow, so far so good.....

1 Female Kandy Kush came to be Jan 1st ( 2 real leaves), and is now almost a foot tall

5 Caramella (unknown on the sex) came the 5th , and is nicely developing as well.

All nice bushy, and healthy looking, growing in 1 gal square pots under an averge of 2700 lumen, 6500k cfl's / sq ft .......18hr day

I have a mixture of 2 parts miracle grow organic, 1 part perlite, 1 part earthgro potting soil

I have installed a grow closet equipped with a natural chimney adjustable exhaust system, lined it with foil, 10" oscillating fan, a makeup air duct to the lower portion of box....... was able to maintain about 80 degrees in temp, but my R/H was too low (19%) .......I placed a 1 gallon bucket (sterilized) filled with water, and draped a wash cloth over the edge to create an evaporator panel effect ( I also placed a wide pan under to capture the drip) I now have a consistent R/H of 38-40%, I water as needed (only when dry), and plan to make cuttings prior to flowering, and tag all , then destroy as needed when sex is determined from "mother plants"

For the flowering stage (with 2700 k cfl lighting/ 3200 lumens per sq/ft), I am going to use Dr Earth bloom booster, but, it looks like it lasts about the same as the entire flowering period, so I will use a little less than prescribed, and hopefully the last couple of weeks will give me a good flush.

Is there a way to put a dry fert in the ground, and safely remove it? Like in a nylon or something?
I am already digging my new hobby, and I am so thankful for all of you out there who continue to share your expertise, and helped someone like me get started in something like this with a direction. I am sure I will rely on your experience as I go, if/when problems arise........for that, Thank You in advance.

  2. Sounds like a good start my friend.! Seeing that they are in 1gal are you planning or re potting them or flowering them early.? I'm subbed and will help with questions.

I am just about to take cuttings, then the Kush is going into a 5 gal and be my mother , the caramella is going into the flowering box, when the sex is determined on those, I'll use one of the correct cuttings as a mother, also in 5 gal pot, then veg/ flower enough for my own personal, so a small rotating crop should suffice.
