Hey, So i'm thinking about trying to grow. Nothing big, just to see what i can do from my seeds i've collected. Most likely It will be in a computer case with a minimal list of parts. Just enough for it to turn on. They will all be low voltage and won't boot past the BIOS which will be lower power consumption and low heat output. I'd estimate the case to be around 18-25c. It will be a mid tower case with a Micro-ATX motherboard to ensure the highest amount of space. I will also string some LED's in there to act as some light source. I think I will germinate before hand because I will only have room for 2 or 3 plants. I'm not intending on having some massive plant (or plants). However, I would like if I could produce something that I could use. I have some soil and fertilizer (both made by "Miracle-Gro") that I intend on putting into plastic cups (w/ seeds). My question is, will I get any results from this? As I said, i'm not looking for something massive but I am looking for some type of result that isn't useless. Also, I realize the process isn't as simple as 'Seed + Soil + Light = success' and i'm still reading up on this. I just figured i'd try with some spare parts sitting around.
Thanks. I've made some changes in my plans since i've posted. Canceled some orders...made some new ones..modified current ones. I think i'm just going to put it in a case with a power supply, 2 fans (1 intake, 1 exhaust), cover the case in tinfoil or some type of reflective material, and then mount the light. I haven't picked out my light yet. Ideally, the light could go in and still have the case shut but that might be hard to do. I'm looking at these two: [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001UV6P9I/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=A3VZKFNMHAPZBO]Amazon.com: Compact Fluorescent 125W Day Grow Light System w/ Dew Guard: Patio, Lawn & Garden[/ame] [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001N4K2QE/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER]Amazon.com: Sunshine Systems LEDGP14 GlowPanel LED Grow Light: Patio, Lawn & Garden[/ame] Anyone have any suggestions?
Im liking the LED grow light with the hanging kit, seems reasonable but I would go cfl/led with led on top and 2 cfls shining from the side of the bottom.
I would say so, I just say 2 to cover both sides, but if ur in a case with reflective walls 1 will do just fine if not just the LED depends on ur size of case
yeah that one cfl is enough but he is stating to throw 2 more bulbs in there so all sides of the plant get light versus having your whole light source come from just the top
Not to deter you from your idea, but if you're expecting anything more than an OZ, get out of that tiny ass case.
I agree, there are portable closets u can buy, take out all ur clothes from ur closet and put into portable closet and use your room closet for growing thats what im doing lol

I've read multiple journals where people have gotten between 2-4 ounces in a pc case, so I would say 1 ounce is a minimum.
