I haven't started yet im making preparations and waiting for all the gear to get here, im quite excited to say the least. I suffer from severe anxiety, im not having any luck with prescribed meds but ive had some very good results with some strands of weed unfortunatly I have no idea what they were and where I live you get whatever your given which is no good to me cos some strands make my anxiety really bad hence im growing it myself. I hear Afghan Kush is good for anxiety so only 1 way to find out. So far I have 3 feminized seeds of Afghan Kush Ryder and 1 seed of LA Woman which is also an autoflowering strain was thrown in free. Im not sure if LA lady is a good strain for anxiety sufferers its mostly indica so im willing to risk it . Im gonna start with the Kush and try the LA Lady after christmas. I plan to just have one plant growing at a time in an effort to reduce odor and the fact that i don't need that much weed it will just be me and my house mate hitting it hopefully it should be ready for christmas . Im just waiting for 2 150w CFL (1 Red and 1 Blue) and a reflector to turn up then its all systems green . Ive also got a big jar of Ona Gel on its way I'll see how it does if it does'nt workout ill get a carbon filter but it all looks a bit complicated to me id like to keep it as simple as possible but if it starts to get smelly ill figure it out... fast. I'm going to get myself a camera (or borrow one) and post some pics any advice you guys can give me would be much appreciated, im going to be pretty much following the lowryder guide.
Borrowed a cam for some pics its not a very good one but meh... Day 18 in her home... Really starting to smell Day 22 First signs of sex white hairs... Does this mean she has started flowering and shouldI swap the bulb? Im really happy with her so far ive fixed the smell with a Febreze plug in I cant smell her at all now
Oh yeah that Ona Gel is going on ebay, the smell nearly made me puke no exageration it was making me really ill...
sweet grow, ive got 3 full grown mature afghan kush ryder's right now if you wanna get a good idea what they'd look like... yours will be bigger because of you pot size most likely. yes white hairs is sign of female sex, put in flower bulb,... half flower spectrum, half veg spectrum should be good.. good luck to you

hows the smell now ? ive been askin around on a decent yieldong af with low odor and someone mentioned AKR. hows the smell goin now ? any ideas of any low odor afs ? i'll b watchin to c how yield turns out for ya. good luck !
Yeah justnblaze I am hooked I can spend ages just staring at her she is so pretty but man she really stinks, the thing is freakin huge now ive kept the light close to the plant but its just taken off its bigger than the advertised specs lol (ill borrow the camera again and take some more pics soon). The febreze plug in is no longer effective... Ive had to modify my cupboard with cardboard to block up most of the vents and channel the air into my new Vicks HEPA airfilter which has an ioniser and a replaceable carbon/HEPA filter, it was pretty cheap and seems to do the job mostly only problem is its freaking loud on anything but the lowest setting and even that isn't anything like stealth, with all my other electronics running though it kinda blends in but my room is starting to sound like a freaking Helipad... I have a few ideas to dampen the noise output which im gonna try and implement this week. To answer your question chrisouth I don't know about the smell of the other Autoflowers but I wouldn't be naive... I didn't think one plant would smell this much... def take precautions... maybe consider growing some kind of Haze I hear they dont smell as much and there are some pretty fast growing varieties out there. Check out Sensi Seeds Silver Haze its not an Autoflower but ive read you can pretty much put them straight into flowering schedule as they triple there veg size during flowering this is also ideal if your hard pressed for space. Nice ryder, but i figured i'd let you know that LA Woman is a fem strain from DNA not an auto flowering strain at all. i'm growing one now in my journal. just lookin out. cheer's
I forgot to mention that i'm also growing this same strain except it's an afghan kush fem and not the autoflower version like you have. It will be interesting to see how much different they actually grow for being the same strain. mine started just like your's, they grow super fast and bushy, with those fat little leaves. tip's: for the autoflower you will want to get it in a 5 gallon bucket A.S.A.P they will fill out more, and give you more veg growth and flower production. you have to give the autoflower room to spread it's root's or you will end up with a really small plant. top it about 2-3 times then let her go, the afghan kush is a natural at filling out, so 2-3 topping spree's will do it for her. I use cfl's and t8's in my veg room. i get mine on ebay for 50-60$ buck's a bulb, there 125w and full spectrum, can't remeber who make's them off hand, but they really kick serious ass in the veg room. but if your going with two cfl's @ 150 watt's each and diff spectrum's, then your golden. i made my hood's out wooden fruit crates and mylar, there vented and everything and free! just add mylar and a socket for your cfl. i'll do a diy here tonight and post that up, hopefully save you some money ya!? cheer's.
I think mine was about 2 and a half foot... not a good idea to top autos it will most likely reduce the yield from what I have read. Btw this plant stinks like nothing else please take precautions
