  1. hey whatsup, firstly, i have read all of the grow faqs, which proved very useful, but these are specific questions so need slightly more information than i could get on the faq! i recently got myself a lil cabinet and a coupla lights, dont ask me what lumens they are cos im not too sure, but theyr the big energy saving type bulbs and they put out a fair bit of light, got a big stackabox with a mixture of vermiculite and soil with gravel so im sure iv got that bit right, there are three plants, all are different strains, i got them as little plants from a friend and theyr all female, the strains as far as i know are, big bud, cali orange and one i cant identify! the cali orange i managed to break the stem partially on so iv got it splinted to heal, its showing signs of slight leaf yellowing, was looking through the forum and theres a few possible reasons but not too sure what it is, should i take the yellow leaves off?, i havent started them on ferts yet, just been watering normally, think i might have overdone it a bit so a possible reason for the yellowing? also wanted to know about the best time to fim or top, saw somewhere that said you should do it when theres at least 3 levels of branchi on the main stem...truth/lies? and finally...anyone used iguana juice? heard its good but im too poor to buy any, pretty sure il be all good wit just normal tomato food though, erm and one other thing, thinking about bending one of the plants, but i think it might be too big already, its about 8 inches from the soil, ok thats it, thanks for your time!

  2. You need to find out more about those lights, telling us they are "big" and "they put out a fair bit of light" doesn't provide any guidance.

Yes you can fim/top after the 3rd or 4th node, but don't do any clipping until the plant is healthy.

Post some pics -- yellowing leaves could be for a lot of reasons. Whatchoo mean "normal" watering?

How old are they? How do you know they are all female -- are they flowering?

Always provide specifics and avoid these vague terms, otherwise we can't help you very well.

  3. hey, sorry for the vagueness, right basically i know theyr all female cos i was given them by someone who knows exactly what he's doing and he took the cuttings of the plants i now have from a female plant. i cant take pics right now theyr on their 6, as soon as theyr ready for 18 il take some pics, as for how old they are, cud be as much as a few months, but theyv been in a stunted state for as long as my mate has had em until he gave them to me which was about a week ago, started em on 18/6 since wednesday, they range from 5 - 8 inches in height. by normal watering i didnt know what i was on about, i was givin them too much i think, so now just watering after first inch or so of topsoil is dry, gona leave em for a bit cos i think i overdid it. wasnt sure whether i shud prune the yellowing leaves or not...so i havent done anything yet. i guess if its just waterin problems it'l be better when i start watering properly. iv just bought myself a lil spray, humidity hasnt been too great at around 40 - 50%, duno if itl make much difference tho, that a bit more specific?

  4. Rough quote from one of the guides:
"More plants are killed by over watering and over fertilizing than are killed by the Feds!"

  5. hah yeh i did see that, have nipped that problem in the bud though i think, top coupla inches of soil has dried out, gona leave it one more light cycle before i water again, im using a spray now to hopefully bring the RH up abit, check my grow journal for pics!

  6. hey sorry to bump the thread, but made my grow journal now, only at day 2 of journal day 5 of grow, just wanted some feedback really, know theyr not looking amazing but i think they should be perking up in the next 2 days as proper ventilation is being installed today, check the pics and gime some comments:D
