First grow.60 big bud,20 super silver haze outdoor

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by Ems7870, Apr 27, 2016.

  1. This is my first grow and I just planted 60 big bud seedlings into 25 gallon pots and 20 super silver haze into 20 gallon pots. I figured if I was going to do it I might as well make it worth it but if anyone could enlighten me on the possible yield. They say big bud is the highest yielding plant with 2-3 pounds sometimes and up to 8oz indoor?what do you think my yield would be

  2. If everything goes as planned by harvest you'll have more fuckin weed than you could swing a stick at

  3. 80 large plants outdoor for your first grow? No offense, but are you serious? If you are, you are going to be a busy guy for the next several months. Who are the breeders of the seeds? Well if you are "going to make it worth it" I will assume you have done some research and that you will be using a high quality soil mix with high quality amendments...if you can dial everything in and keep it that way for the whole grow, you could be looking at a 150lb harvest in those size pots. That being said, it being your first grow, naturally you should expect a little less than that. 50-100lbs would be more reasonable.

As a new grower with no IPM in place you'll be lucky to get a couple of pounds of useable buds assuming the powdery mildew, Caterpillars, Spider mites don't decimate every last scrap of it..

What looked so good at harvest started to pour out caterpillars within a few hours of harvest and after a couple of days the count was in the thousands.. I really didn't understand it till we started to break it all down and found mold where each cattie turd had laid.. Shit canned whole plants and pounds of weed just got tossed in a bonfire..

Edit:: A better question would have been what issues and troubles am I likely to run into..
Next bottle neck I can see is now you have 100 pounds of uncured weed.. Do you know what to do with it all ?? Dry and cure ?? Long term storage ?? Disposal ?? I scaled back when all I was offered from a dispensary was $500 per pound when they're selling it for $400 an ounce or even 10 bucks a gram.. And then they want me to pay for testing it and ohh it's got .00001 pesticide residue and we won't buy it anyway..
Hope your not planning on making a dime off this as the market is overloaded from what I've seen..

  5.
  6. Yeah I am serious I quit my job as a manager of a fine dining restaurant to be able to take care of these baby's ffor the next t 5 months

  7. As a new grower you should hope you can get your job back soon. You have no idea how much work 80 plants will take, it is more than a full time job for multiple workers. You should keep your grows to 8-10 plants until you can reasonably harvest at least a #/plant without help.

  8. I have very good people around me who have high quality knowledge on cultivation. Honestly I have 74 babies in pots between 3" and 6" so far. I understand how much work this will be I live in southern Ohio. So either way if the weed is good or not, which it will not be terrible...it is still weed and weed sells. I completely understand where starting small would have been a better idea but I've spent 2500$ on nute, pots, soil and seeds so I'm all in already

  9. Bnw you have good info. This is my first grow in cali. Im about ready to harvest and the catipilers got me good. I got to them in time but they still fucked up a bit of candicane. I did catipiler genocide yesterday so I feel better about the whole deel:) whats a good preventive measure for the future?

  10. There is no way to even remotely guess what your yield will be. First off, caring for that many plants is one HUGE job...which you're soon to find out. You would've done yourself more good by growing one or two plants to start with just to get an idea of how to do it. I will say that growing outside is not as complicated as indoor growing, but it's still a ton of work. Unless you have all these plants just sitting at your back door, I can't imagine how much work it would be to even water that many plants...or mix up feed for them. The closest estimate I can give you as far as yield....we had 4 clones that were weak and not like I wanted to waste space in my flower room on, so I repotted them into 5 gallon buckets and grew them off on the deck. Two were feminized White Widow and two were feminized Critical Kush. You simply can't mimic the sun with artificial lighting and the plants grew 5 times larger than they do inside and we didn't even put them out until some time in June. Each plant grew to over 6 ft... tall before starting to flower and at final harvest, I think we got a bit over 5 pounds off the 4 plants. Lost some to bud rot. Be very aware of your plants growing outside. They can get attacked by critters and half the plant be damaged before you even see it unless you are vigilant about keeping a close eye on each plant. Good luck with it all, but you most definitely have some serious work cut out for yourself over the next few months. If you don't understand the process of growing these plants, I suggest you do some serious reading up on how it's done. You've got that many plants going, you definitely need to understand how to grow them. TWW
